Put perfectly. If not for Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters, we would just have had the loss of Kurt and Nirvana and all the things that could have been. Dave/FF's energy and positivity were the perfect antidote to that. He needed to make that first record, and we all needed to hear it. In the book she talks about how hard it was, as a teacher, to sign the papers for him to quit school. However, she also knew that music was in his soul and she wondered what kind of mother she would be if she tried to take that away from him for a piece of paper. Most of the moms in the book speak to the heartache of watching their child give a part of themselves to music and the fans. It's a good book, I highly recommend it. If you do the audiobook you can hear her read it and a couple of interviews between her and Dave.

@SoulKingBK3 жыл бұрын
@zappafan11 Lol your critisism is literally a nothingburger "they didn't do any new music" if your gonna shit on something at least have the decency to know what you are talking about and be concise with your critique. However we both no we won't do that because your entire identity is being a contrarian so you can feel like a special little flower. You are more pathetic than the dudes whos only claim to fame is having heard a band early before it was famous. Get a life, or at the very least your own personality that isn't solely based on pedantically tearing down more talented people's work.
@SoulKingBK3 жыл бұрын
@zappafan11 Even if that case study was correct for arguments sake (which I’d highly doubt veracity of a single case study. Multiple follow up trials and reproduced studies are necessary before you can state it as a theory scientific fact.) it’s irrelevant to whether music is good people have been remixing and Forming new ideas by combining old ideas since the beginning of time. Furthermore , even if you are the sad boomer screaming “get off my lawn” to children, if you spent your entire life listening to a different album every day it would still be impossible to hear all “distinct music” by man. Thus, the fact that there’s an overlap in chord progression is irrelevant because you yourself wouldn’t even be able to tell. This clearly reveals your own bias because new music isn’t a factor if you can’t tell what’s reused. You’re just using pseudoscience bullshit to justify your shitty biases. Simply because you hide behind a single Scientific study does not mean that your opinion is valid. This strategy you use has been used Over the course of history incorrectly to justify many horrors and racism. While yes this is obviously not as bad as scientific racism... you’re using to secure your biases in essentially the same way. TLDR; Nobody cares about your single study you pulled out of your ass. End of the day you just like the shit that came out when you were adolescent and think anything after is worse.
@SoulKingBK3 жыл бұрын
@zappafan11 least I’m not a pretentious blowhard who claims to know all music and only finds pleasure in shitting on more successful men. Either you tried to start your own band and failed because you aren’t talented or you were too much of a coward to even try in the first place. Either way you’re so shallow that it’s kinda pathetic.

Dave is one of the most authentic, REAL people in the world. I just watched a Jim Carrey documentary, and Jim said something very profound. So they “act” in a way which they believe will cause others to accept and subsequently “like” them. Dave does not act. Dave is always Dave, and we still accept and love him. How phenomenal of a person do you have to be to have Paul McCartney want to come over and meet your baby.

I've always thought Dave and his mom have one of the best mother child relationships. She raised him to be such a beautiful human.

I saw you play at Satyricon with Pat smear and I was pulled up onstage and sat on the side of the little stage watching. It was an unannounced show after Curt passed . Thank you, I’m glad your alive and healthy. ❤️

Ps I also remember my friend in Portland playing Nirvana to me while I was dying my hair blue smooshed in a little bathroom with a bunch of punk rock girls, cigarettes and 40’s , claw foot tub , fishnets and my friend heard you play at her brothers house. Amazing thank you ✨

We’re from the same hometown and he just so reminds of a Northern VA kid. His sense or humor and being down to earth etc. His mom taught in my school district. I don’t live there anymore, but I miss it. Watching Grohl, Rollins and Chappel feels like going home (DC).
