Listening to this album while reading George Orwell's, "1984" will blow your mind.

A Paradym for the Cosmos! Holland and Coleman individually are their own extremely successful people but together for the listerner they are immense. Dave Holland's 'Extensions' for the cutting edge jazz fan is up there with latterday 'KInd Of Blue' and has not aged a day. Blinding music from both and most inspiring for intermediate Sax players like myself forever trying to improve.

Beautiful. I notice "little girl I"ll miss you" is briefly referenced in the Village Vanguard recordings. Coleman at his most open; and thanks to his generosity a selection of this album is available at the M Base site. There is not much that Steve Coleman has done that I don't get, but this recording is one that I consistently return to. As for Dave Holland, Conference of the Birds was a teenage wake up call. It all sounds so sublimely logical and lyrical to my now far older ear.

This album was producedd by a Japanese jazz label "D.I.W.". Steve coleman played the alto saxophone in a logical and lyrical way. Also, Dave Holland supported Steve's solo, as well as played the bass just like a melody instrument.
It's actually called 'Little Girl I'll Miss You' by Bunky Green. But when Abbey Lincoln wrote lyrics to it (that Cassandra Wilson sang), Abbey called it 'Little One I'll Miss You'.
