@@adamazzalino5247 Well, I'm from Dave's home state and I've listened to a lot of his music. He was EVERYWHERE around here in the 90's. And I find myself just not liking his style very much. That's alright, though. Everybody has their thing. You might take it as a greater compliment to Dave in that I don't like his music much, but I did appreciate his tribute to Jimmy.

Woke up Saturday morning to the miserable news of the King Parrotheads passing. I actually had to read the news headline several times until it registered. Never met the man, but loved his music for over 40 years. Further, I can honestly say I have been choked up since then as the denial has faded and reality has set in. Jimmy made bald heads and pencil thin mustaches cool. Now I'm sitting back with a beer in one hand, flip flops on my feet and a rolled "fattie" in the other hand. Here's to you Jimmy and all the rest of the Parrothead Nation! Fins up!!!!!

My moms cousin was a firefighter at the station right behind Wrigley. A few days after Katrina hit NOLA a guy pulled up on a beach cruiser bike, hat and sunglasses on. He casually asked for a tour of the station. They obliged and gave him a tour. As they finished the tour he pulled my moms cousin to the side and said I’ve got a little concert here the next few days, I was wondering if you gentlemen would sit out with boots or hats and ask my fans for donations, I’ll match what’s raised. That man was Mr Jimmy Buffet. He came in that station as graciously as he exited. I can’t remember how much was raised but I do remember he more than doubled the donations.

Beautiful ..he would love it. I don't think Jimmy ever met a stranger...So many great stories...personal stories...posted everywhere about Jimmy Buffett today. Seems almost as if everyone knew him personally...feels like that anyway. And all of these stories carry one theme, what a great, genuine and good guy he was. We need more Jimmys. I don't usually post about a celebrity passing...someone I didn't know, but this felt different. There were tears. He will be missed by millions. RIP to an actual legend...one of the good guys. Jimmy must have been a fan of Dave Matthews since he invited him to sing with his band onstage in New Orleans in 2006. I think they became friends after that.
