When LeRoi came in on the If I had It All intro, I couldn’t help but groove! Unbelievable ... he played with such soul, and let the music breathe. I love Coffin too but there was something about Roi and how he left space. Beautiful.

Every now and then with these guys, you hear them tear up a song you’d never expect. In this show, it’s If I Had It All. In most live recordings of this song, they sleepwalk through a messy 4 minute album-ish version. This was a jaw dropping performance.
@downriverproductions4 жыл бұрын
This is a prime example of why I love this band so much. A somewhat random B-side and it gets a full intro jam and an incredibly fitting outro. Rashawn and Jeff carry the torch well, but Leroi was the beacon of this band. I miss him so much.

So Leroi...his undeniable genius, IMO, was ironically in the notes he didn’t play. He could’ve played 3-4 times the notes he played, or at least double, and still would’ve been amazing. But I love his rare sense for playing just the right amount. Sometimes less is more and in his case less is Leroi Moore ...lol...Srry but so true IMO. Thank you Leroi. Your genius sense for what to play and what not to play has left a lasting impression on an entire generation of ppl. RIP🙏🔥

Carter at the end of Loving Wings just reminds me that I’m not wrong when I say Carter is a god! The people who omit him from their “greatest drummers ever” list are only omitting him because they haven’t seen by him play enough.

The only person I’ve concluded can compete with Carter’s technical ability is Danny Carey.

@@dude4173 I so agree with both of these comments. Beauford is a beast. They are all extremely talented but, when I have a video playing in the background, I will usually stop to actually watch, Carter, or Boyd. I realize the hashtag thing is a thing of the past but... #BringBoydBack

So I missed this show and was at the Saturday. Now I really know what I missed. This is one of the best end-to-end shows ive heard. Anybody got a better show they can refer me to? Great set list with lots of less featured great songs plus this is my favorite version of the band. Miss Butch, Boyd and, of course, Roi. Fonz and Carter are rhythm kings. Is anybody happier on stage than Carter? Think this was first year for Rashawn. Whateva, this is one helluva set.
