i can't believe im 7 months late to this. I've heard this song non stop since he first played it in the virtual concert he gave from his home during the pandemic, and it really helped me get through the worst lockdown moments. Thanks Dave, your music always makes me feel better!

"Encore opener" is my favorite subgenre of DMB songs, so this is great. 👌🏻

Yes this is a very very pretty song. I'm so thrilled with the album and have a hard time understanding all the vitriolic outright trashing of the album by some "fans"

I think that I'm going to have to play this one on my Martin Guitar tomorrow. Every once in awhile I hear a special one and I know that I have to play it. I have to play this one. Thank you David.

The song I stood up sang along to the Encore at Southaven Mississippi!! My mother loves Dave Matthews I’ve listened to all my life.

When the war is over And we go back to every day, every day Will it be the same again When you been turned inside out and outside in? Singing from the windows Shadows on the wall, the way they dance It's not much of nothing But look at this fire burning bright Look at how the children play Well, none of us know what's to come tomorrow But I'm not going out today So dance with me like the time we've got is borrowed Singing from the windows Sirens in the dark, where are you going? Pretend that it's nothing But look at this fire burning wild This is how we keep holding on All the days, all day long But sometimes things just fall apart No matter how we try, they won't stop Singing from the windows Something outside but I don't know When the war is over Picking up the pieces of every day Memories and picture frames Trying to put the inside out and the outside in Singing from the windows Walking down the hall, nowhere to go Be good to see you We'll get going again

Huge fan, but this is by far one of the worst DMB albums; hate to admit it.

Man, it's wild to be in the minority here with you. I'm a huge fan but this album is by far their worst album. It sounds like B sides from Come Tomorrow which was already Meh at best. Idk. The whole album just seems like they knew they needed to put out a new studio album so they pumped this out in a break between tours and it just seems, idk, uninspired. Shit, even sorta boring. It's wild that the best song on this album is 18 years old and isn't even the best rendition of Break Free (cough Fenway 2006 cough). I donno, really let down by this album, I mean, I was already weary when Madman's eyes was the debut single and that was just Dave going, "Ok, what musical style haven't we done in a while? Egyptian? Good enough for me." Perhaps this album will grow on me with more listens, but so far, man, what a let down. Also, what's up with Dave leaning into that weird off-key falsetto thing he's been doing on the last 2 albums? He does it on every single song on this album and I gotta say, I'm over it.
