Homie, I don't know how often you have runs that would bring ya into the New River Valley in SW VA, but I work the Diesel Desk at the 101 truck stop. I always got free coffee for my truckers. It helps keep you guys awake and alert. So I will always ya up. (This goes for all ya truckers. Just stop in.) But this is gonna be a cool test... Right now we don't have showers, but they are on the way. Anybody that comes in and mentions this post, you are hooked up. I will figure something out. When we get our showers, then that's def gonna be the comp. We also try to be the cheapest around here for Diesel. Like today is 4/22 and it's 4.76 a gal. So yeah, we definitely try. But you all be be good and be safe on the road and off. - Hootie HOOOOO!!!

I grew up skateboarding in Verona, Wi. I skated with jared hochmouth and travis erickson. I remember when alumni opened up in town and everyone, literally everyone started rocking nikes. dave mayhew is not lying about that. kind of tripping out listening to this right now. Living legend of my childhood right here. thank you nine club. and thank you, Dave.

My mom took me to buy my first pair of skate shoes in 2001 when I was 11 years old. They were the Osiris D3 2001's and I got them at Westside Skateshop in Tarpon Springs, Florida. John Montesi owns that shop which has top tier staff and an employee was discouraging me against buying the shoes because they simply "weren't going to function", which was true, but it wasn't my objective to have a high performance shoe; I wanted my identity to be known as a skateboarder by EVERYONE that saw me and looked at my feet. Say what you want about the aesthetic of the shoe, but it gave me confidence and pride to be a skateboarder, even skating in that tank of a shoe. I'm 32, I still skate and I still shop at Westside! My mom still hasn't recovered from the devestation of that price tag... Thank you Dave & Osiris & Westside. Respect!

Wow what a name I haven't heard in some time Dave Mayhew was such a amazing skater he would jus do things most guys jus couldn't do. Thank you so much 9 club I know alot of these skaters are forgotten along with their stories but, for some of us these things mattered and left a giant imprint in our lives. These interviews are flat out brilliant. Skateboarding wasn't as big then as it is now so we are a smaller crowd enjoying these for sure. But a extremely grateful crowd. Please don't be discouraged by subs and likes and whatnot from younger crowds because your target demographic is really pleased. Thank yall

I skated with Dave a few times in Madison and he was always supportive and kind. I still remember coming outside at Turf Skatepark and seeing this crazy steep circular bowl and thinking, "Who could even drop in on this thing?" Five minutes later, Dave was ripping on that bowl in a way that blew our teenage minds.

I like Dave Mayhew, he seems to be smart, solid and with good values. Shady companies have lied to him, not paid him fairly, etc, I understand that. The swiss bank account part was pretty good. I bet he took the settlement because there was too much grey area as to who really did the design so he might've lost in court. Wonder what the figure was. 20 mil?

Dave, if I were you (with my limited knowledge) I couldn't imagine not putting serious effort into working those cheats for what they owe you. I liked Osiris, past tense tense. Thanks for the stoke!

The stuff with the D3 sounds crazy but this stuff happens all the time. The owner of Kryptonite bike lock company claimed to have invented the u-lock for years until it was uncovered that he took the idea from a bike shop employee who actually invented it. He just rewrote history on his website and thought nobody would notice.

I managed a sandwich shop called Dagwoods on El Cajon Blvd in SD in the 90s. I met Dave Coyne from Maple skating and gave him a job. Mayhew came into the shop one day and I gave him a free sandwich. He was stoked. Don't know if he remembers.
