I rarely ever post comments on videos I watch here on KZbin, so forgive me for it being quite lengthy. I used to be a digital subscriber to Uncle Dave’s site a couple years ago and I actually do remember listening to that edition of WOR when Dave said ‘TONY KHAN’ in that high pitched voice. Even though that went completely over my head when I heard it at that time, it’s basically the reason why I decided to cancel my digital subscription to Uncle Dave’s site, because of his blatant and obvious bias when it comes to AEW, where he has constantly been defending the company since the beginning So that reminded of the conversation Dave and Alvarez had when Phil Marks recently played that clip of Dave saying ’TONY KHAN’, where they were having a discussion about who is the person most qualified to take over WWE from Vince someday, since it was right after Triple H had his health scare that looked like he wouldn’t be the one that was gonna takeover when Vince was gone. But hearing that again just made me SMH in absolute disbelief that Uncle Dave actually said that about Tony the clown being the person most qualified for that, which continues to sound even more fucking ludicrous today. It’s a perfect example of why Dave has absolutely no credibility left whatsoever, when he’s supposed to be fair and unbiased professional journalist, but instead has become AEW’s PR rep. Uncle Dave actually should’ve got the message a couple months ago that his credibility was completely dead when he wrote a story, which was a couple weeks after the Punk interview, where his “source” high up in AEW, that supposed works on the business side, told him that the allegations Punk had Colt Cabana blackballed from the company were in fact true. I’m sure Dave thought that was gonna be some mega bombshell story, that was gonna send shockwaves through the wrestling business and could actually destroy Punk. But no, instead his story did fuck all and nobody cared about it because he had already destroyed his credibility due to his bias reporting, where he’s only ever told one side of the story since the beginning, that being the EVP’s side.

If Meltzer had called out both promotions for having pretty dead tag divisions with the booking, then I'd be OK with the claims about similarity. That's one of the big question marks against HHH, it still feels like the tag divisions are just there, there isn't any real interest in them. The thing about ladder matches also counts for street fights, falls count anywhere matches... the impact gets diluted. Honestly I'd be happy for WWE to drop the MitB thing as I'd like ladder matches to be saved for feuds, they just feel like an unnecessary bunch of bumps that have really lost the impact over the years. I have the same issue with cage matches, and even war games to be honest. I like that it seems like Drew and Punk will be going for a while before they get in to a hardcore match stipulation. In regards to the Triple-HLA 'story', I'd love to know what Dave had to say about the Skye Blue creep (probably accused them of being a WWE fan for spurious reasons) as it feels like this story is pandering to that type of fan. I'd have more respect for it if they were doing it with all men, rather than playing to the male gaze fantasy. Wouldn't care to see it either if executed in the same way, it just wouldn't have the same feeble attempt to appeal to incels.
