o how i adore Dave Navarro!! so glad to see him still sober and helping others.

Dave Navarro is definitely one of the best guitarists of his generation, and someone people can learn a lot from. The sadness he must have went through seeing his mother and aunt murdered must have been devastating for him at 15 years old. It's really an inspiration to see him so clear and alert and showing so much interest in making sure that we take care of our brothers and sisters that struggle with addiction.

Wow. What amazing guests you had today. These guys are entertaining, inspiring, and very honest. Always thought Navarro was kind of a dbag, but he is so interesting to listen to and being depressed, gives me hope. Billy is awesome too and saw him perform with the Cult and that guy can shred. Seeing his backstory makes it so much more impressive.

Really enjoyed the interview with Dave and Billy. I’ve said it often, but I could really see myself hang/ being friends with Dave. It’s a silly thing to say, but he seems to be, out of ALL the celebs, the most approachable. Really so.

That's fantastic! I'm 63, been sober about 20yrs. You're blessed to have caught yourself at the age you did. As thankful as I am to be here, and probably a bit above average physically for my age, I still drank my prime.

Watching Dave navarro's documentary about his mom, he speaks of escapism. Alot of us do that, even if it's from depression of losing a close loves one. I've done this myself. When I lost my grandma I lost it. Dave's an amazing person. If he can get clean, we all can do it. I love what he's doing with music cares. Giving people in the music industry a chance to get sober. Even people off the streets can get help.

Dave seems like such a cool, down-to-earth guy. I'm so glad he's still with it and didn't succumb to his addiction. On top of being an all-around great guy, he's one heck of a talent whose guitar work is simply incredible.

I met Dave at Guitar Center Hollywood, a long time ago, and we briefly talked (he initiated) and he was the charming soulful person he shows in this podcast. Also, he was with the hottest babe, a foot taller than him (not Carmen, well before), that I have ever seen :) ROCK STAR!!!

Lots of great points that can be applied across the board. I was born like a lot of Italians with a miserably slow metabolism that practically made me put on (bad) weight by just thinking about eating like everybody else. Thankfully through trying to improve my athletic performance I stumbled across the Gym/Nutrition lifestyle in my late teens. Still for a long time I felt a bit cheated that I never had a few years where I could eat like most people. It's not my intention to be boastful here, but as far as Silver Linings go in talking to many people in my (late 50s early 60s) age group who didn't have to think about their nutrition until presently, and they're way out of shape with the Dr's bad news, and they're clueless on what to do. It's as 2nd nature to me as breathing, while physically I resemble Stallone. Never fail to be amazed at things shake out.

I caught the clearance aisle bug a while ago. Often an item's expiration date has nothing with why it's heavily marked down. Items can be discontinued to make room for new merchandise. I've had sauce I buy regularly get discontinued, check out clearance and there's 10 bottles, normally 5 bucks a pop, 3 years from expiration date, quarter a piece. Score! Grocery shopping for sales is how I unwind.

It's unexplainable how one can tell a story of day and night use of a substance and still have the struck by lightning odds of becoming an international touring billboard chart working, recording, performing band. Not resentful of the journey that Dave or any other successful person who's become sober or reflecting on once was, just goes to show that no matter how much one practices it's not guaranteed to turn into fame or fortune.

Adam making a point about how everyone used to dismiss actually good breakfasts like eggs and protein for stuff we know is unhealthy now, like granola and brown sugar; ADAM; Those commercials where the wife would take away the plate of eggs & bacon and replace it with granola…. BRYAN; AND A gRApeFrUIT!!! GINA; YA! A gRapEFrUit with A GRapE iN dA MidDdLe!!! Great work, guys. Way to once again confirm you don’t get the point Adam’s making, but it won’t stop you both from interjecting random nonsense. Pretty sure fresh fruit was considered healthy then and still is. It’s sad how good Adam has got at just moving past it when they both don’t get it. It’s funny because he’s still busts Dr Drew’s balls all the time on their podcast, when Drew misses the point.

Back when a documentary came out about Dave's mom being killed he was outraged that it said her death contributed to his drug use. He stated that he was well on his way to a life of drugs before that and it played no part. I guess hindsight and reflection have changed his view of that
