Kimbles' take on women brewers was basically correct, brewing was a household task that involved ingredients and equipment that the women had already and skill sets that were similar to their other kitchen type duties. It was often considered 'woman's work'. Children also might be involved, as mother was caring for them at the same time. It was a good way for women to earn the household extra income as an alewife or running a from home alehouse. A widow with no husband's income could help sustain themselves thusly.

I learned how to drive stick in a bug my friend taught me picked me up during the week at about 1 am said we had the streets for about 4 hours before people started a commute to work losts of stalling jobs of bucking but by tye 4 hours I was pretty good at it
