Because people haven’t figured out this very simple concept: if you are unable to pay cash for it - then you can’t afford it. Do I use credit cards? Yes I do. And I pay the balance IN FULL before the closing date so I never pay a penny of interest. I also have a no annual fee credit card.

I start buying for Christmas in September, shop deals, etc. I can’t fathom spending $400+ for each kid. We keep it very modest, keeping in mind the grandparents will chip in. We make memories with homemade cookies & making ornaments, and decorating the tree, etc. that’s what the kids are going to remember. ❤

I am glad I am below average on Christmas spending for this year. I bought myself a new laptop in November, so if you include the $585 I spent on that, I'm at just over $1,000, but if you don't then I'm barely at $420 COMBINED for everyone this year, and I only have 3 more gift cards to buy. Stark contrast 8-9 years ago where I spent over $2,000 on Christmas back in 2015/2016.
