I have specifically had some questions about Mark for a while now and you are answering all of them. I know you don't make videos often but I I'm a new subscriber after seeing this video and also seeing the rest in your library. I hope to see more and I wish the Lord to be by the side of you and yours.

Fantastic summary. Love it. Jerome also credits John Mark as starting the first Christian school, the Catechetical School of Alexandria. This may or may not be accurate, of course, but as a cross-culture-kid who grew up in Africa and returned to start a Christian school, I like to imagine it is.

The way Marc's gospel is narrated looks like it was written by a young person. It is believed Marc wrote his account of the life of Jesus when he was still in his mid 20s. He was very rich and educated and could travel back to Jerusalem by himself , then Paul indicates in his letter that Marc had "written instructions" for them. This might have included his famous action gospel!

only it wasn't written by Mark.

What a wonderful informative account dave. I was searching youtube, for the reason why Mark left Paul and barnabas at perga on that first missionary journey. I thought that somehow Paul may have even been 'jealous' of the ambitious intentions that this young man had of writing the very first gospel about his personal friend, jesus christ. Because Mark knew jesus, ate with Him, saw jesus betrayed. Jesus probably talked and encouraged Mark. Jesus might have even told Mark that one day, God willing, you may be one of many to write about my life...!

Why is it Paul couldn't get along with anyone? He had arguments with literally almost every person he cam across. And in his writings, he comes across as a very unlikable person. I read the Gospels and wanna cry, I read James, 1,2,3 John and 1 Peter, and those are all such beautiful writings, but then I read Paul, and it just seems.... off.

They may have quarrelled, hot headed mark may have gone back to Jerusalem, to do more research about his upcoming Gospel, perhaps.,eventually writing around 50 to 60 AD...im glad to read about how Paul reconciled with mark. Mark certainly learnt a lot from Peter for his first, earliest gospel. Thanks once again. Much blessings..
