I just had a TIA last week. I am very frightened of having another or a full blown stroke. Fortunately I aren't living alone: how dreadful must it be for those who are, also I am only 53 so imagine being 63, 73, 83... Please heed the warnings if you are reading this. ❤

I had a TIA 2 weeks ago and I'm only 39 with an athletic build. Feeling fine now. Just a little brain fog and fatigue. I'm back into the gym daily but half my usual intensity. Doing a lot of brisk walking, but no running for now. Dr said just take baby aspirin daily until my next follow up appointment in 3 months. Tests show no current blockage in any arteries, so nothing further for the doctors to do at this point . Just hoping that it doesn't happen again

I had several TIA's and after many tests to find out why, the discovered my right carotid artery in my neck was blocked 80- 98%. I had surgery to remove the blockage and so far it's worked good.

I'm having an ultrasound for my cartoid artery on Thursday. Had a TIA last Wednesday and suspect it's that. Hope you are going along ok 😊

Can they see tia damage in an MRI?
@bftigdd4 жыл бұрын
Yes they can in MRI ... and MRI with contrast and even with a CT scan but MRI imaging is much clearer and accurate

@@bftigdd Actually it DOESNT always show up on the scans. Speaking from someone who just had their first TIA last week! Mental confusion, mixed up word still there.

I have had 2 possibly 3 TIA`s, first I was told it was caused by AF, then cardiologist said they now don't think I have AF, so I have asked several times if they can find out why I had the TIA`s , But I am told no

Sorry to hear about this and hoping you continue on your recovery journey which I know is hard and long long but never give up. I am a neuro physiotherapist and I had a TIA 2 yrs ago following AstraZeneca Covid vaccination but doctors denied that was the cause yet they could not find out why I had it! Because I worked with stroke patients, I was fully aware of what I needed to do even probing for certain tests to be done eg. eye tests with optometrists which I had not been referred to…it is sad that certain things may get overlooked. I quit my stressful job at 55 to help improve my health and I now work in a junior role but more on a self employed role. I agree life and health comes and I am now on lifetime medication to help reduce chances of another stroke. I had a very good consultant who sat me down an told me to slow down as this could happen in a year, or 3 yrs or 5 yrs or 10yrs. Adjusting foods and increasing exercises to maintain health, education is very important. I love your interview, it was educating and warning at the same time. Speedy recovery, you have a loving and supportive wife there! 🌻

How did they confirm the TIA?
@elizabethc9843Ай бұрын
@@jamq3815 MRI confirmed it. I had scan first which didn’t pick up anything but the MRI was done the following morning and I had already started treatment for the clot.

His hand is trembling in the video, is that nervousness or an affect of the stroke?
