He was an absolute beast. Not just strong, but incredibly smart and almost had a sixth sense in knowing what his opponents were going to do before they did it. He was so fluid in his movements. Wrestling is such a misunderstood sport. Thinking it’s just strength. Being strong is good, but leverage is so much more of a factor. I’ve played a lot of different sports, none of them were as demanding and draining as wrestling. Every muscles in your body is used. Another thing was Dave’s conditioning. He never ran out of gas. It’s like he got stronger and quicker the longer it went. Such a phenomenal athlete. It sucks so much John Du Pont was raised they way he was. I’m not excusing his actions, but his upbringing was awful. No real support structure or anyone to boost his fragile self image.

Every one of Dave's matches looks like a master class in technique and tactics. One of the true greats. He didn't deserve to die young at the hands of a lunatic. So sad for him and his family. RIP Dave. You will never be forgotten to those who love the incredibly hard sport that you mastered.

Didn't the Iranian athlete have a name? Or is it not customary for Americans to treat all athletes with respect and not just their own?
