What an incredible person Dave was to risk his own life to give Dion’s family a sense of peace and closure. What a great legacy he left behind.

I get so happy whenever I see you post and I hope that this new year will be a little easier on you, people will always find something to comment on but I hope you know how amazing you are and how many true supporters you have, Merry Christmas beautiful Mumma 🤍

I grew up diving in Key Largo. My dad owned a diving business. I'll never forget, I was diving in the Cayman Islands with my Dad. I was about 13 or 14 yrs old. We were only about 30 feet down, just going along the bottom. It was absolutely beautiful! Then out of no where, there was this drop off, almost like a cliff's edge, where you couldn't see the bottom anymore. I ended having the worse vertigo from that & it freaked me out. My dad had to hold on to me, so I didn't shoot up to the surface as fast as I could. We just went up slowly so not to get the Bends. Luckily vertigo subsides quite quickly when you ascend. So I was feeling better. But talk about dizzying! I'll never forget that moment. Ever!

It's absolutely heart-breaking that such a brave, good-willed & decent man paid the ultimate price & lost his own life during an act of heroism! Thank u for covering this case so well & with due consideration & respect all around! May both of those brave & adventurous men be Resting in Eternal Peace! 🕊🙏🕊

I’m not gonna lie, i feel like this was not worth it. Deon said if he had to choose he’d want to die diving. Deon’s parents said he has the most majestic grave. It had been ten years. David had a wife and children. No.

I don't know, if it was my son who had passed down in the water, I wouldn't want anyone else to lose their life to bring up my son's corpse. I believe in the Real Life after the death of this life on Earth. I would know that my son's soul is free and there's no need to lose a another life for a corpse without a soul. That's just me. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I knew that I agreed for someone to bring up my son's corpse, and they died in the process.

Very good coverage of this tragic case. I dive, but only recreationally - only been down to 35mtrs or so. My dad was a wreck diver - scary. I have dived on a couple of wrecks and it is freaky - very unnerving at times. Yes, it can be dangerous - but so is going to the moon or climbing mount Everest, or even going mountain biking. I think humans are doing these things for the rush and thrill of exploration - it will help us progress; can't just stay in bed all day. RIP those guys. Very brave.

I respect that people see Dave as honourable or a hero but I think it illogical and foolhardy Didnhe not consider his own family? Dions family knew what happened to him and where his final resting place was so they had that amount of closure I agree that his “grave” Was poetic and where he preferred to Be not in the ground somewhere I think it madness to risk a life a family man’s life ( more to consider other lives not just his own) to retrieve an already deceased body?! A shell Not Dion I would not be proud if it was my partner and childrens father I would be all about preventing it and applying some uncommon sense I feel for Dions parents but how do they sleep now ?!
