Another super day out there Dave, thanks. Lovely scenic countryside and a sharp line of guns that did well on nicely presented birds that looked really shootable. Those crossers you got at the Quarry drive were outstanding and they don't all have to be in the stratosphere to be challenging. You regularly highlight the positive financial influence our sport has on the economy and I'm sure it was great shooting close to home for you. Best regards as always, Ed.

Great little film Dave. As a local born and bred Tadcaster boy I know the area well and as a kid I beated on the Stavely estate amongst others Bramham Harewood Sawley and many more. I'm in mid sixties now and not as fit as I wish but the economy now makes game shooting out of reach for the common working families. All respect Dave.

Very nice video Mr. Carrie! I love the Yorkshire countryside because for me it's the real British way of living in the countryside in these hills and valleys. A few years ago my wife and I attended Game Fair at Harewood House and we were blown away by the stunning setting. I think Yorkshire will definitely see us again. Thank you for sharing this experience on this beautiful estate. All the best from 🇦🇹🤠👍

Some fantastic birds shot, most of them belonging to the next door guns 🤔
@DaveCarrieShooting Жыл бұрын
Yea all shot behind them if you take time to watch + crossers going in front to each end “my birds because I killed them” anything in between that looks neighbours birds camera angle but my birds!! If you think they’re every body else’s birds “ which ones are effing mine” don’t I get anything over me??🤷♂️sorry but I get sick and tired of this tirade of nonsense- if I missed everything that i shot at who’s birds would they be then - nobody’s cos that would be ok😡

@@manofkentcatapultsgunsando5069 thanks buddy but I suppose I have to put up with a bit of nonsense as it is always difficult showing kills behind other neighbouring guns without it looking like poaching “even when they have had their two shots”😬
@skipmole612 Жыл бұрын
I didn't want to pass comment as I've never seen Mr Carrie prior to this vid, but i agree, on the first drive it appears he is shooting birds very late to the point of them being over and behind and, perhaps exaggerated by camera angle, his neighbours birds. He comments that if his neighbour has missed the bird twice, it is fair for him to have a go at it. I disagree; let that bird go for another day.
@stevelomas3886 Жыл бұрын
@@DaveCarrieShooting sorry if you don’t like an opinion, but if you are suffering a tirade of nonsense then perhaps there is another perspective to explain to viewers? When a bird drops at the feet of the next door gun (your opening drive) and he looks across at you, and most of the birds you are taking are in front left and right over neighbouring guns then I’d qualify it by explaining that might be the agreement between the guns to shoot over each other for more sporting birds, but I’m not sure that is the case here?I I’ve been a game shooter for over 40 years and I think you are a brilliant shot and I’m sorry you took it as an offence, I just think some of your choices are at risk of looking somewhat greedy and unnecessary in the context of the guns around you. You are better than that and don’t have to wipe everyone’s eye for them and fill your boots at their expense with some choices. Just an opinion from the “angle” of your filming 😁

Shame how they value the shoot at £55 per bird it’s barely worth £40 but each to there own probably a decent fun day out but no better than most local syndicates. The mind boggles at what certain people think there shoots are worth ! Great shooting on your part Dave nevertheless. Please also bare in mind I live 10 miles from here and I’m sure your very good friend puts on a far better show for far less 👍

Mmm I know what you mean- I don’t get involved in how a shoot is run or costs- I try to show all types of shoot as they are all part of our wonderful community and what makes our shooting sports so special to our overseas audiences/visitors!! I had an enjoyable day and as the organiser and myself pointed out, it is not an extreme or high bird shoot but it’s still a nice day out for most of the shooting community who will want good company and killable birds for their abilities!! in general the whole game shooting industry is getting far too expensive for the average gun, which is a shame as this could cause the industry to contract and fall back into the really wealthy section of our society🤔

Wales is under serious attack but yet big voices like you and other social medias still uploading game days only but mention the future of our sport constantly. Without the public this sport will die. But influencers like your self still only worried about your game day videos

@@DaveCarrieShooting it's the public who needs to see it, we need a full documentary start to finish of what gamekeeping/shooting does for nature we are literally doomed if someone doesn't start, but it needs to be put to the public somehow or other

@@qwakaaog682 that’s a mainstream TV job something our illustrious organisations would have to finance!! KZbin only reaches an audience that seeks a particular subject out!! Country folk (i.e. The already converted) will seek country sports - Rest of the population will not even look for it especially shooting sports! Our organisations should have been advertising on mainstream tv for the last 40yrs just to keep the rest of the country connected!! They have let the countryside/shooting sports down very badly🤔

Sport ? Slow, lumbering clueless birds, with no inclination as to the mortal danger they are in, are pumped full of hot lead which shatters their little bones and rips into their lungs - and this is sport ? Seriously ? Can not these 'hunters' see what needless agony they are inflicting on sentient creatures ? Have they no pity or empathy ? Is this 'lifestyle' construct that important ? And I own a modern Beretta (SP3) - and am (I'm told by those 'who know') quite the shot; but I could not turn such devastating power on the innocent. And as to how the conditions these poor creatures live before the 'shoot'...

Enjoy your sport (I’ll keep on enjoying mine) and specifically enjoy being told how good you are by your friends - what competitions do you enter? it would be nice to meet in the shooting sports arena then you can show us how good you are with the old beretta!! Have a great day “know that I’ll have one” whilst planning my next wild bird conservation project!! Perhaps we can talk again and you can explain to me what contribution you have made to preserve our wonderful flora and fauna 🤔

@@DaveCarrieShooting Well, I am compelled to concede that you’re not a coward: many (most) in control of their channels would simply have just deleted/blocked my observation. I won’t rehearse my arguments; you’ve doubtless heard them (or a variation) many times before. And I am not, nor would ever be a SAB - disgusting people. I am not against game hunting as such (though I could not do it); it’s just that it’s become so industrial and most birds shot are no longer consumed. I have not competed in guns: the sea is my thing (solo Wales - Ireland; Norway to Holland in crew - 1 in 70 vessels; Finland to Poland, 2 etc.; skipper of a small North Sea trawler). Hunting aside you seem (in fact I’m sure) that you’re a nice chap. I wish you the very best, but hope that you may retire to competing in clays.
