now get an English Setter so you can see what real woodcock hunting is like

The American woodcock was the first game I've ever shot. They really are something special. If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend trying ruffed grouse and woodcock hunting in the American north woods. It's definitely hard going, with cover so dense you can hardly swing a gun, but it's heart pounding and incredibly rewarding.
@coldandaloof71663 ай бұрын
There really is nothing better. Here in Ohio our Ruffed Grouse are all but gone. But we still get the woodcock come down from Canada for a couple weeks every year. Love it. And they really are in the thickest stuff. Many times I have had a dog on point and heard the bird flush but it was so thick I never saw the bird or the dog lol.

@@programmatic93 still got to find it. Still got to hit it. Still got to harvest it. Especially something like a woodcock. Not denying your point as the big “private property keep out” sign kind of gives it away but still got to go find it. You could say the same about rabbits in a field.

I just remember, but it's such a long Time ago.... Can tell you the name anymore, I Lost the brochure of these nice families that where proposing a mukki, a loghome for you to stay in during the weekend, roebucks in velvet to shoot from deerstand, and these trophies are huge, and.... Woodcocks behind Welsh spaniels ! Wonderful working dogs! The Alands islands ARE such a Great place, 1992 IS a Long Time ago! Thanks Again for letting us be part of the moments !

Dear Monsieur Jonny, I didn't know that WE share that much of one of the n'est expérience : rough shooting behind some cocker spaniels using 410! I didn't have Eley ammunitions when I was still in France (Brittany and Normandy ARE very good woodcocks migration grounds) and any one critter that you got make you feel like Saint Hubert, Saint of the hunters and shooters ! I miss my little Cathy, cocker spaniel, that was such a wonderful dog. I Switch to double pointing dog combinaiton, a Gordon Setter and a special French spaniel, the Blue Picardy! Very complementary together and a warning delay of the point to get ready. I had from 1999-2002, the same breeds of dogs to hunt in the South West of Finland and the Alands islands in the middle of the Baltic... Wonderful Time when the migration starts end of octobre - november AT the edge of the Falling snow. If you are invited don't hésitate, Lapland IS also Great for all the grouses, ptarmigans, cappercailles, ducks and geese around the lakes.... Thanks for sharing all these Moments with your Friend, marvellous vidéo ! (My 410 IS a beat UP italian over/under that can't stand to be compare with the two wonderful ones of yours,!/

Those Eurasian Woodcock look to be about 3 times larger than our American ones. They have those longer wings as well. They must be something else to try and clip. I saw a previous mentioned comment about you folks trying the Ruffed Grouse and the American Woodcock. I highly encourage you guys to give it a try. Be well conditioned for it, as it is a tough work out. Maine, Minnesota, Michigan, and Wisconsin are the state's I'd head to for the best opportunities for a successful hunt. I really enjoy your program. Thanks
