What a ride! I dont know if you are aware of this, but there is half a cutsecene you missed for the frenzied flame ending, there is one major event that changes if you see the three fingers before doing the flame giant, and then doing the flame ending. If you havnt seen it you should look it up. Loved the playthrough

If you scrutinize our world situation, there are only 1 pair of 2 Fingers still alive in the Lands Between: Ranni's...which we help her kill. The Roundtable Hold doesn't appear to exist in the Lands Between, and as such, I don't think we can count that pair as a living pair, so much as the 2 Fingers that perhaps is just a memory, or escapee. So...maybe 2 pairs of 2 Fingers at most depending on how you see it.

Gideon is so sure that a tarnished can't become a lord, maybe it *really* isn't possible because as we saw from bernahl, he made the whole journey and nothing happened when his maiden threw herself into the fire. This is why he's a recusant, he had the most faith in the tarnished mission and saw it through, but it was all a lie. So that must mean that the only reason we become elden lord is because melina has the ability to burn the erdtree whereas a normal finger maiden wouldn't. If you think about it, the only other way of burning the erdtree is using the flame of frenzy which has to be bestowed by a whole ass outer god.

Can't believe it's over! Congrats on getting through the entire game without summoning. The frenzied ending can change if you didn't let Melina burn herself. She shows up all pissed off. It was my first ending of the game and I honestly thought I had to beat another boss after the huge struggle with Radagon/Elden Beast and nearly cried. But it'd have been cool secret boss I think!

Yeah, if you talk to the Three Fingers before setting the Erdtree on fire then you get a "Listen to the flames" option at the giant's crucible. There's also additional dialogue with Melina warning you off from doing it and promising to hunt you down if you do.

Well done for finishing the series! It's always a big job, but you did it! The beast looks like a very interesting mix between a sea slug/mudibranch and a dragon. I can see the influence of bloodborne in there, what with relating ancient elder beings to sea creatures lol

I would love to see what you come up with when making a game. When comparing your assessments of this game to Joseph Anderson's you show an awareness of how games design works that a lot of gamers don't seem to think of. I expect you'd do a good job. The one thing I never really got about this final stretch is why Gideon tries to stop you. He has repeatedly helped throughout the game, saying his goal was to see a Tarnished ascend to Elden Lord...and then suddenly stands before you at the 11th hour saying none shall take the throne? I could understand if he was trying to take it for himself, especially considering some of his general shadiness earlier in the game, but why the 180?

It's interesting that there are two very slightly different Ranni endings. Seems like lots of effort to have minor dialogue changes in one ending. Loved the let's play as usual ! Hopefully more lore videos in the future.

Finally got through this incredible playthrough. As someone who wouldn't currently find the time and patience for this game, I'm very grateful for an opportunity to experience it with you Dave. Thank you! A few thoughts on the endings: they seemed really disappointing to me. The only two where we stray away from the Erdtree and the established look of the world are the ones where we submit to yet another God (chaos or moon). All other four seem to just modify what already exists in some fashion. I'd like to see Miquella's Needle used more significantly, to disconnect the Lands Between and the world from any influence and build everything up from scratch, just as it was attempted with the Haligtree. Maybe that is something for a DLC to expand upon. Still, the moon and chaos endings seemed to have had the most effort put into them by the dev team. I'd also wanted more of Merika and the Beast, it all seemed so rushed with the cutscenes while being some of the most fascinating aspects of this game. Oh and Godfrey felt really out of place and a bit cringy, almost like pulled straight from Naruto. All in all this is an incredible game, especially for an open world one. Not From's best work in my opinion (which'd be DS1, Bloodborne and Sekiro) but it's up there.

The Elden Beast is very sea-sluggy, and there are a few sea slugs that look like dragons. Sea slug outer god=Bloodborne Reference. Perhaps the Elden Beast took the form of the dominant species (Dragon) to gain power?

If you do an Elden Bling Episode, Perhaps you could review your top five fits (which could include weapons). While it is a shame that the yes/no doesn't appear for the endings, I am not surprised it plunged you into an ending. Not fun.
