As for me, Mohg did not kidnap Miquella. In the intro video, Mohg leads Miquella gently holding his hand. And regarding the image of Morgott attacking Radahn in a monologue, it falls under the taking of runes, which can also explain the difference in the growth of Radahn (its increase effect of the rune) which could also be the reason why Malenia took the rune because without it she had no chance against them.

Regarding Crucible Knights, they fight the Beastmen so I assume they were their as part of Godfreys army to fight the Dragons while Marika was trying to take over as the new god.

Absolutely! Pretty sure there are a couple of their equipment descriptions that tell us the OG 16 Knights were all Godfrey's personal forces to back you up!

Why Crucible Knight in Farum Azula- as Todd Howard says, it just works. There's an actual examination to be had, connecting the old power of the Crucible with Dragons, creatures that (If we think about it REALLY HARD) are just creatures that have a ton of different animal features all mashed together: Goat horns, crocodile teeth, horse ears, snake scales, bird wings, lizard body. Very Crucible. Perhaps a friend of Godwyn? But other than that, I have no larger examination.

as soon as I saw that Vaati Lore about Let Me Solo her I thought about the holy text of Giant Dad lore. I don't even really like Dark Souls very much but your vid for that is Perfection. Vaati definitely should have taken notes.

For a moment I wondered if the architecture of Farum Azula was at all similar to Mohg's squatting place. Other than the fluted columns, the motifs are quite different. In Farum Azula there are a lot of scrolling leaves and romanesque arches, like if the designer of the Colosseum went ham on dragon worship. That's in opposition to Mohgwyn Palace's tall straight lines. A thing to note- the plant and floral motifs that can be found in Farum Azula, Mohgwyn Palace, and in the bases of divine towers have an incredibly similar style in my untrained eyes. Does this mean anything? Well, all three places are OLD, older than Marika's reign, and, possibly, Older than the Numen (Smough Town's assertion that the Nox are Numen blew my mind).

I'll raise you that thought and add that if we "reassemble" Farum Azula, and put it in the large semicircle in-between Leyndell and Lucaria, it very much resembles Guranq's Beast Temple, built right into the side of the mountain. I agree with you that 1 way or the other, this architectural consistency is not random, and these civilizations were all connected before Markia.

I really enjoyed hearing your thoughts on the Anderson vid, I've had that in my to watch for awhile. As I don't really play video games that much as I am TERRIBLE at gaming, most of my game opinions are usually about lore. And from a lore enjoyer, I fully agree that repeat bosses mean so much more than just empty space.

So that place where you lie down in order to meet the Dragonlord? In several places we see those dirt-filled arches beneath our feet, and within those arches are beastly skeletons. It still doesn't explain how the Tarnished knew to do that, but it makes me wonder...

I'm happy that I'm early for this one but sad I was late for the previous episode on Farum Azula. I was very pleased with my observations about the Worm-Faces connection to Death, Godwyn, the beastmen of Farum Azula, and Garruq the Beast Clergyman, and I am concerned that you will not see that comment.

When we read our lore on Serosh, it very much says that He was the King of beasts. Placidusax was an Elden Lord, and while we all may have speculation as to who his Emperyean may have been, the point is: Placidusax did not possess the Elden Ring. I contend that Godfrey did not vanquish this King of Storms by himself. I think Serosh aided Godfrey in a Coup, and together they were able to chase away Placidusax, causing the storm to rage uncontrolled and send Farum Azula into its current placement on the map. It also leads credence to the idea that perhaps Godfrey was more of a Puppet than we are led to beleive.

On repeated encounters, many of them are not even truly repeated. For example, the Night’s Cavalry bosses have different weapon variants, etc. I do wish they did a few more interesting twists like the Avatar which clones itself in the Mountains

Hey Dave, I’m way behind on these videos, but I recently learned the Radahn fight solo and like it even better than before. His moveset is challenging but each attack is fair and dodgeable especially with judicious use of Torrent

It's King Ghidorah!! :D It seems he had at least five heads before...(there are three cut-off stumps near his torso) but somehow the Old Lord's Talisman depicts him with only 4 heads. So even though you already kind of turned back time to bring back Placidusax for a fight, I wonder how the fight would be if you could turn the time back even further. Also, I still wonder about Melina's burnt hands... did she try burning the Erdtree before and it didn't work? Or did she actually succeed but we got yet another typical FromSoft Cyclic Timey-Wimey thing going on? (especially now, that we more or less had some pseudo time-travel with Placidusax) Also, Also! I just realized in Placidusax' Remembrance the image with his two heads up reminded me a lot of the Two Fingers! He was still waiting for "his god", could he have cut off his own heads to contact his god the same way as the Two Fingers do?

Heya. I haven’t commented much, but I’m still enjoying your videos when I can. My wife popped out a rather unexpected baby last month and we’re getting that all figured out. 😁 Being a dad is weird 🤣

In Dark Souls 2, going back in time to fight the Giants and their King was definitely a moment for me, but I have to agree it's hard to compare environments with the rest of the FromSoft series!

Regarding the thought on repetition I can see why some people are annoyed with reuse of bosses. However if one more person complains that Margit is in the game more than once without paying attention to lore I will beat you into pulp. Like some bosses and enemies are placed at certain areas with thought... a place with lava has a lava monster like the slugs and wyrms... no shit they are reused for that.

The Maliketh fight I hated on my first playthrough, but it’s grown on me since. I really like most of his attack, only wish there was a bit more of a tell on his swirly AOE. Mohg second phase, on the other hand, suffers from a floatiness problem imo

I actually do think they did a good job with how they reused some of the bosses, in the way that you fight weaker versions first, that train you for the real deal later, they are placed in a way to make it feel like your skill enhances.

When threatened with a war that would see Godwyn destroy them, the Dragons took human form in order to sway opinion of them, and broker peace. I think in the previous cycle of Placidusax, Dragons probably did something very similar, hence we get the Draconic starting class (dark skin but short life). Part of me truly speculates that Onyx Lord + Dragon = Draconic, Alabaster Lord + Dragon= Numen. If the Lords decended from the stars, and the Dragons felt threatened enough, why would they not have pioneered this manipulative practice then in order to extend the life of their civilization, and broker peace? I think it's very likely!

I think the best point Joseph makes in his review, is that you actually get punished for punishing enemies, instant hits with almost no telegraph and stringed combos that you cant dodge out of. The whole thing about "Sekiro combat without Sekiro tools" to actually handle certain situations is very on point, and is also what tainted my personal experience the most, it made me just overlevel so i can delete those unfair roadblocks faster.
