I have had to use these excuses myself...even when I was in a gay bar! A girl hit on me one night and I said I was married (which i was). She got very upset with me asking why I was there if I was married? But I was with a friend of mine who is gay and she had invited me to go out with her. Never having been to a gay bar before I went with her and had a great time! I've since gone to several similar places with friends, gay and straight, and always got hit on, but always had great fun!

I was in line at a store once and I felt the guy cashier was sort of trying to flirt so I bought one of those little magazines they have at grocery checkouts sometimes, it was a book of baby names. His expression went from flirtatious to horrified. It's risky but you could just say something like I have to hurry home to my kids so the babysitter can go.
