Never really knew the story of the Tolpuddle Martyrs so found this talk and walk very interesting. The fort is a new one on me too - still lots to learn about my home county yet, obviously!! Thanks for another informative and very watchable video!

Another video stuffed full of history and information as well as beautiful countryside looking great in the stunning weather. I liked the secret obelisk - the surrounding trees and tree shadow made it look very pretty. A Roman road thrown in too for good measure! I agree Logan seemed a bit low key - maybe he was sad for the Tolpuddle martyrs!

Thanks Jean. We had spent a fair bit of time "stopping & starting" with the filming in the village and so we were both a bit cold by the time we got out in to the countryside!

You picked some good weather for that one. Unlike today, where the wind has been bitter. We must try and visit the museum sometime. I thought Logan looked a little lethargic, lagging behind you for much of the time. Not his usual style.

It was a fairly cold day - certainly looking forward to warmer days when neither of us have to wear coats!

We may, in fact, both be right (or wrong.) According to which source you use they may be separate places or one and the same, positioned near Badbury (on the Roman road to Hamworthy) or a more westerly site at Wetherby. It seems to depend on how long ago the information source originated and what (if any) subsequent research and discoveries have occurred. I may be cynical but it seems to me that it’s essentially based on random finds and an unnerving dependency upon late Roman itineraries, not noted for their geographical accuracy. Nearly 50 years ago my wife and I were voluntary wardens at Badbury so I may not be entirely unbiased. Thanks for your response and the video walk.

FRAMPTON ,The name first recorded in 1227 meaning a person from the town on the river FROME ,was a certain simon de frometon owned land in cheddington near south perrot ,dorset 😊😊😊😊

Lovely walk. You certainly get good weather. You mentioned that Wetherby was the site of Vindocladia, a small Roman settlement. This is actually a couple of miles south west of Badbury Rings, between it and Spetisbury Castle - both suppressed by the Second Legion Augusta.

I actually said "Bindogladia" in the video .... a Celtic name (?) - having obtained the details from a "British History" website www.romanplaces.eu/the-celtic-names-of-hillforts/weatherby-castle-in-dorset. There is another website that identifies "Bindogladia" with Weatherby Castle. www.trismegistos.org/place/18985 . Forgive me if their information is incorrect (I am no expert!). As you correctly say, "Vindocladia" is close to Badbury Rings. Thanks for watching.
