@ddangerousddave
@ddangerousddave 9 ай бұрын
Just to clarify, I didn't send any of those jumps blind. I've ridden the first section of the trail before, but I still made sure to roll through once to check that the trail hadn't changed and that the jumps were clear. As for the second section, after I overshot the stump jump and crashed, I went down and inspected the rest of the trail. Normally I would put that in the video, but I forgot to record that bit. Just don't want anyone to get the wrong impression and think that riding jump trails blind is a good idea.

This is amazing footage. I’ve been riding full suspension cross country since 1999. In 2001 I caught the outside of my front rim on a rock that threw me over the handle bars and I broke both my radius and ulna in my left arm. Two surgeries. Now if I grab something wrong with that arm it hurts. I’m still riding, but no super crazy stuff. You guys are one mistake away from a life changing or life threatening fall. You’re young, but think about the rest of your life. 🎸🔪

As a person who never rode but likes to watch I always have this question. When you hit a jump for the first time blind, how do you know the proper speed? Is it just an experience thing? Also can we just say camera stabilization tech has come such a long way in the last decade lol.
@ddangerousddave

I don’t know if many people really know about this but there are trails out in louisiana that have uphill and downhill trails, but they also have a lot of features that scare me to an extent I don’t ride a lot of the trails. I’ve been riding for about 2 1/2 years and the one thing I realized was I’m scared of gap jumps, but I really want to hit them someday but I figured putting it out there that there are trails in louisiana that deserve more attention the trails are in Bogue Chitto State Park, and I’d 100% recommend them if you’re ever passing through LA

interesting what you said about the brake leavers- I personally want the brake point to be farther away from the handle bars. Especially shimano brakes are very bad for this- the adjustment is close to the bars, or really close to the bars..

@@ddangerousddave the point when the pads engage and it starts braking- for my shimano brakes I use a trick were I just pump the brakes about 3 times when the wheel is out- on magura brakes the adjustment is normally enough to get it where I like it.. the closer the lever comes to the handle bars the worse I can modulate my braking- guess that is just my anatomy

What i dislike about the 360 cam is everything looks exaggerated in terms of how slopey it actually is, everything looks like a drop-off to doom when it's actually not because of the fish-eye cam effect. Not to discredit what you're doing, these trails are sick and so are you, but the cam overdoes it.

Nice video Dave. The only thing I dislike is the too wide view angle from your camera. I don't know if it is a default view, or if you can actually reduce that angle view. It just distorts the prospective too much such that I can't really tell how steep is the trail in front and on the sides. Of course that is likely just me. BTW, I agree you are dangerous. 😁
