Oi Dave! I dig the underhand hihat lick, gonna try that! Love the buzz ghosties as well, reminds me of New Orleans drumming which I adore! Great stuff mate! In a related story, love that snare! Cheers!

That's a lot of love! I'm sure underhand hi hat has been around for a long time but I picked it up from the gospel drummers like Eric Moore, Larnell lewis, Chris Coleman et al. Nothing like some Nawlins....such fun to play. Snare wise it's maybe a little cranked for this video but I like it. I've been working on the sound of my room for a few weeks and adding soundproofing and treatment to it so I can get a better fundamental sound out of it. Stay safe dude

I’ve just started to see the hihat trick, I don’t really watch a lot of vids by the drummers mentioned, just because I’ll watch a few of those then next time I play, chops is all I’ll try! 🤣

@@DaveMajor hi a bit like a subdivision within a subdivision..so for instance ..squeezing a triplet into a quin tuplet..or septuplets..etc...no good videos on a good application of nested tuplets....or triplets anywhere...cheers..good example is where you pull out a duplet from a triplet to create shuffle....but when you take this further..it opens up very nice rhythmic possibilities...
