The Haunting of Marsten Manor

The Haunting of Marsten Manor is a supernatural mystery (NOT a horror) about
Jill (Brianne Davis), a girl angry about being blind and struggling with her faith.
When she inherits her aunt's house, unnerving things start happening there. Her friends (Breanne Davis, Ken Luckey, Christine Woods) become concerned about her sanity, leaving her feeling even more isolated and under the spell of the house. But when Jill disappears, it’s too late for her friends to stop what is already in motion. The ghost (Julie Sapp) that brought Jill to the house and a soldier from the past (C. Thomas Howell) are going to reveal their secret, forcing Jill to face her fears.

Talk about hidden gems. Such a simple movie but interesting. I wasn't going to watch this at first because someone in the comments said it was a love story. Some love stories are dramatic I don't like that either but they're some love stories that are also action or scary don't miss out just cuz it love story you'll be able to tell right off what type love story it is. Like Bonnie and Clyde it's a love story or the Mexican it's based on love story but it's action it's in English the name is actually a gun in the movie

So sorry, Julie. I am beginning to think suicide is a demon like alcoholism. I've been fighting suicide most of my life. I beat alcoholism, but, these suicidal thoughts are far more intense than alcohol craving ever was. I have to keep reading about folks like yourself who are left behind, and how bad you hurt. It helps me resist when those urges are so intense. Keep making the movies. Keep making people like me think. Love.

@Samuel Black To acknowledge this is helpful. I tried to overdose and pulled through everytime, I had a rope i was hanging from come unknotted. But the most frightened I've ever been in my life was when I pulled the trigger on a loaded 357 magnum and it misfired! How did the perfect gun misfire!!! I was so scared, I've never attempted anything else, someone was calling the shots and it wasn't me. But, you are correct, it's always there; when driving, when using knives, etc. When I see widows like Julie, I'm horrified at myself. Disappointed in myself. Loathing myself. Then cycle starts all over.

Nice movie and what a friendship they have . reminded me of my friends of college back in India . this new generation is different. I am born in 1984 , and got new generation experience yesterday. I gave my car for repairs and step into bus . A young girl was sitting and here purse was on seat next to her with usual headphones in her ears . I asked , she ignored me and kept looking into her phone. I tried moving her purse and she said " don't even touch it " I said where will I sit then , she looked at me and looked away " . I loved this movie. I expected some B-rated horror movie but it was unexpected and brilliant. Please do watch it, it's so worth it. I've often found myself thinking about the plot elements and "lessons" in the years since I first saw it. It's wonderful.

This was a decent film, in a direct-to-video kind of way. It stayed away from nudity and gore and had a somewhat positive ending. The acting was competent and the cinematography and sound were good. Plus, the acting was good for the most part. Also, the Civil War aspect of the storyline added a unique touch. All-in-all, a good film. I'd give it a 7/10.

This is a great movie, AND YES WE ALL KNOW EVERYONE IS STAYING AT HOME, I MEAN THIS IS COMMON PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE RIGHT NOW! Anyway, the movie is about a Blind girl inheriting her aunt's house, the blind girl and her boyfriend and best friend are staying in the house for the weekend, the blind girl starts seeing images of a woman wearing a HOT ASS looking dress, but anyway, the plot is really slow and this is something that won't scare the pants off of you, back to the story, the woman is trying to communicate with the blind girl, The blind girl's best friend thought the boyfriend was trying to scare the blind girl but they too also started seeing the same images, but the image they saw was confederate soldiers bullying a servant and her child. To make a long story short, I guess the aunt was trying to let they asses know that her body was in the attic and has been for quite some time. The blind girl discovered her body and that was the end. Sorry for the typos and grammatical errors, im just trying to give some info on what this movie is about. If you are looking for jump scares, then this movie is not for you!

I was not expecting how the movie ended. It was a good movie. I like it a lot. Somehow it just makes you more and more interested as the movie goes. Recommended it 9/10

I really enjoyed this movie. While the acting initially was amateurish, it got better. The story line held me captive - it’s a good solid plot with a great ending. It’s a classic ghost story that was not overly intense!

Thank you for sharing this ! April 2019 I thought this movie was just a cheap low budget wh young actors, but the drama and suspense kinda turned into a soap opera style movie but the ending was worth watching it. “I give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️”
