I’ve had some trouble with wandering spiders as well, so I’ve taken a break from true spiders for a while. The only two which I have had reach maturity were the males of C.getazi- Rusty Red Wandering Spider and Ctenus captiosus- the Florida Wandering spider. I got my Red-Thigh Wandering Spider up to about the same size you do when they die. Also, just like you, I had just rehoused it into an Amac box with 1” screens for across ventilation, and the thing didn’t last but three days when I found it hanging lifeless in its molt. However, I did figure out that since it died in its molt, it was as a result of dry conditions. I will give it another try in 2022’ perhaps. I’ve also had trouble with the tiny exotic huntsman slings, I have kept. Only they died from wet, dank conditions and I thought if I gave them more ventilation, they would just escape. Instead they molded over. The only one I raised to a decent size was a Heteropoda venatoria, but that one escaped from me during a feeding and was gone. A lot of those leggy true spiders are lightning fast. I think the huntsman and wandering spiders are two of the fastest groups in on-foot sprinting. I have caught my fishing spiders on the run, by hand fairly easily. While fast, they are not the fastest or most agile. In my opinion.
