Oh My gosh! The last few days have been so busy for me. But the news is...my tarantulas have arrived!! Yea😄. They arrived warm and ready to leave their containers they were shipped in. Dave! OMG! They are sooo darn cute! I love them! The g.pulchripes is tiny but I can almost see the striped markings on her knees. She a bit flighty but she's getting settled right into her small enclosure. As for the t.albopilosum she's spectacular, at least for me and I realize I probably have first timer T owner syndrome. LOL! Earlier today I had decided that she needed a slightly bigger enclosure so was slowly transferring her and she decided to go on walk-about. She strolled up my arm without a by your leave to the point I couldn't get to her. Ended up having to remove my t-shirt to redirect her into her home and not take up living quarters in my hair. Perfectly behaved she was. No hair flicking, no posturing or threats, I was delighted. She a gorgeous T. Steve from Archnoiden thinks she should moult again it about 3-4 months. I'll take a few pictures of them when they are more settled in. I'm hooked and quite certain there will be more to add to my new addiction. LOL. Took your advice. Stayed calm and I certainly do love her already.

Agreed! There’s one very popular channel that bugs me the most. He’s careless, and immature. Frequently agitates his spiders on purpose then laughs and makes jokes about how mad they get. I’ve seen this guy try breeding a number of times and lose the male on them all. Instead of trying to figure out why, he just blames it on the crazy females. Once I started watching Dave’s videos I felt like I was transported to a different dimension! Blew me away how professional and respectful he was. Knowledgeable and still eager to learn. Dave completely changed the way I see spiders and although I’m not a keeper, taught me a whole bunch!

Love your channel Dave, no nonsense, extremely informative videos, I used to keep tarantulas but grew out of it over time, I started to keep true spiders again during the first lockdown that I collected from in and around my property, I find that I can while away the time for hours studying these creatures whilst everyone else is complaining about being bored! I'm currently rearing spiderlings from the egg sacs of gravid females that I collected last year, I find it immensely satisfying & I am learning new things about them all the time through studying their behaviour that I hadn't read in books, I plan to release some back into my garden & keep some for future breeding projects. Channels like yours inform & inspire me to carry on, so thanks & keep up the good work!! I'm particularly fond of wolf spiders & remember from an earlier video that you took possession of a Hogna carolinensis, how is she doing? I would love to see her featured!! P.s-I am currently raising Eratigena atrica, Steatoda nobilis, Drassodes lapidosus, Amaurobius ferox & I am trying to pair Scytodes thoracica that I keep discovering inside my house!! Thanks & all the best, Paul.

I will say every Chilobrachys Sp. Electric Blue I've ever encountered is determinedly fossorial from sling to grave. The dyscolus I have is still just a second or third instar sling, and even most of my arboreals are fossorial at that stage of life (except, bizarrely, the Avicularia Purpurea. That one is a third instar and likes to sit out on a tiny leaf), so I can't speak to how they'll age out, but they've created quite the intricate little web tunnel in the substrate. I wonder if there's a behavioral difference in bloodlines from different populations.

@daveslittlebeasties3 жыл бұрын
