Mouse Guard is SO charming with such an interesting aesthetic and world and with so much potential to be an epic story. But it seems that almost nobody knows the comic and less the RPG. And it seems that everyone who sees it thinks it is for young children, only. I am 30 years old and I love it.

Curioso viniendo de un gato hmm

Mouse Guard proofs that simplicity doesn't mean lack of depth. It's lazer focused on its premise.

Fantastic video Dave! Came here from the ICRPG Forums. You have a new sub! I've been learning this game the past two weeks and this is a really good overview. Nice work. One small error: in order to level up a skill, the player needs a number of successes EQUAL to it's rating and a number of failures equal to the rating MINUS 1. (Ex: to raise your Scout 3 skill, you will need 3 successes and 2 failures.)

Scott Leland Yes! I found this error last night. It drives me nuts but at least this comment is here. I think I’ll add the correction in the video description. Thanks, Scott!

Rick Apocalypse That depends on the person. If all a person ever plays is D&D for thirty years, their brain plasticity for new rule paradigms would probably be low. But others in the RPG world play new games every other week and Mouse Guard is seen to them as a deeply simplified Burning Wheel.

Hate to break this to you but RPGs started as tabletop games and then were translated into video games much later. Most of your favourite video games are probably heavily inspired by tabletop RPGs, from the story to the themeing to the actual coding of the mechanics themself.
