Chase The Heat I’d love to eat some of the worlds hottest peppers with you on your show. I’ve eaten Carolina reapers and ghost peppers and I thought they were hot but not extremely hot. So I thought, one day, why not just spray mace in my mouth. It was pretty spicy and didn’t taste like anything, just pain.

Johnny, when you put the peppers up to the camera, if you hold them about 4-6 inches further back, it should focus way faster. There is a minimum distance it needs to focus, and you are coming in just a tad too tight. Keep up the awesome!

Hey I'm Andy Bambrick, super spicy lover. I planted 12 dragons breath pepper plants, (my kittens dug them up as sprouts) I managed to save one of the plants (about 3" tall) for it to be uprooted by cats again and swept up in house cleaning. Found it in the (pile of house sweeping stuff) replanted it I've been growing it for 2 yrs now and it finally produced peppers. (I planted this originally in N.C. now I live in M.E. and I have peppers. I heard these plants can produce for around 5 years. I'm on yr 2 and just now got peppers. They ARE hot. I have an attachment to this plant. I guess my question was (I heard when the pepper is producing its pods) if you stress the plant out it can make it increase in capsaicin. I would love to send you pics of these (there small and very compact) smaller then yours but pack a punch for sure. I'd love your feedback not sure how to get your opinion though. I appreciate your work.

Personally, I'm finding that cap cramps are what is holding me back from going much hotter than what I can presently handle. In terms of the peppers I've grown this season, habaneros (golden or chocolate varieties) no problem, I can eat a whole pod without much problems. The trinidad scorpion, not so much. I get cap cramps that are so bad that I can't go all out and eat the whole pod. The heat in my mouth or throat doesn't bother me in the least, it's once the burn hits my stomach that I'm in trouble. But, I can't resist keeping on trying, hmmm...

I have five Carolina Reaper plants and some Dragon's Breath seeds for spring time. I've made some incredibly hot, and delicious sauce from the Reapers and have been thoroughly enjoying them. I have around a half pound of the Reapers and have set back some seeds from the best phenotype as well. Seeing as how they are apparently bitter, I am going to cross the two together and possibly back breed the resulting cross again, to try and bring out more of the Reaper's sweetness, while not sacrificing any of the heat. I have grown many different hot peppers in the past and am looking forward to growing/cross pollinating these two plants in the coming months. Thanks for the review. I will let you know the results, once I stabilize the resulting genetics. Cheers from South Georgia, USA! 🌶️

Peppers can absolutely make your tongue swell. Jalapenos will do the same for me. It's not that they're hot, but there's some sort of reaction. I will end up with marks on the sides of my tongue from my teeth. It happens like clockwork. It doesn't give me a speech impediment, but it's freaky.... and it certainly doesn't stop me from eating hot foods.
