I wouldn't even consider it trying out bits, it's just that since Jerry is a comedian, he thinks of every topic in a comedic way and delivers everything like a bit. I work on a talk show and our guests discuss what they'll talk about before the show, but someone say Kim Kardashian if asked to talk about her thanksgiving, wouldn't be able to come up with anything funny to say since she's not a comedian. She would just rely on the host to make it funny.

The funniest part of this was how Jerry twice referred to being in the same age group Jimmy. I’m two years younger than Jerry and as sad and painful as this is to admit, I’m several “age groups” older than Jimmy Fallon. What makes Jimmy Fallon the nicest late night host is that he didn’t step on Jerry’s set up..
@sparklemotion10186 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing. Jerry is the same age as Jimmy's parents! And it was nice of Jimmy to let Jerry do his thing without pointing out the truth: Jerry is 64 years old, an old guy about to qualify for senior discounts whose oldest child is over 18. Jimmy just turned 44, a comparatively young man (and much newer dad, raising a couple of toddlers) who is NOT "of a certain age." Jerry is pretty much grandpa age. Jimmy can still wear whatever jeans he wants! I remember in the early 90s, years before his marriage, Jerry dated Shoshana Lonstein, who was my age: at the time she was an 18 year old living in Manhattan (she then went to GWU in DC, after a few years broke up with Jerry, eventually married someone else, and she's now a successful fashion designer). Shoshana is a year younger than Jimmy Fallon: at the time Jerry's relationship was was a HUGE scandal because of the several-decades age difference and the fact that his girlfriend had to move out of her shared DC dormatory to a private apartment in Foggy Bottom with girlfriends to avoid paparazzi as a new college student. (Jerry's eventual marriage to Jessica was also a scandal because when they met and he proposed she had just married someone else... but that's ancient history now.). Point is NO. Jerry, you CAN lump yourself in with Jimmy as a married family man, and you can lump yourself in with Jimmy as a comedian living in NYC but even for comedy you can't pretend to be anything close to the same age demographic.

I am 62 and have a very good friend who is 25 that I met at work. Neither one of us works there now but we kept in touch and still talk many hours a week with him on the phone. I don't know how old you are but the reality is people from the age of about 34 -40 stay pretty much the same regardless of their age. And a good argument could be made that we all stay the same from much much younger than that. If you think people should act differently as they age I don't know where you are getting that from. It's pure bollocks.

Love Jerry Seinfeld, Elaine, Goerge , Kramer and the rest of the gang. I watched the show in the 90s and then they stopped showing in where I was. Now I can watch Seinfeld and Jimmy Fallon together on line. Lucky lucky me!!

11:46 - "it depends" This is a genuine moment of comedians - comedy writers - riffing off each other and coming up with a great punchline on-the-fly. People complain about Jimmy's "fake laugh", but you can always tell when he is genuinely happy and amused.
@jj18605 жыл бұрын
It was so perfect. It reminded me of Seinfeld where they would end an episode by bringing back a line that was used previously in the episode. Honestly genius by Jimmy to recall that from earlier and using it again. Timed to perfection.

Or conversely one could say yes or no but either answer needs qualifying. Not all answers are black and white or fifty shades of gray. It’s tricky speaking for your spouse or explaining the details of why you answer one way or another especially on tv where time can’t be wasted unless you own the studio (which Jerry could buy)
