Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on KZbin, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on KZbin. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on KZbin, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.
This is a reaction video used to educate and give my feedback on the song and artists.

That was a fun reaction and overview. My friend Candy worked with David right after the Thin White Duke period when he sobered up and said he was wonderful to work with. The album from that time period STATION TO STATION is really worth a listen particularly the title track imo. The album is in my top 5.

Bet Bowie was a wonderful chap. I agree, Station to Station is one of his underrated but one of his top 5 albums. Absolutely love that album.

I loved that you didn't interrupt the song and your analysis was insightful. Thank you. I bought this album the moment it hit the stands in 1980 and it has always been deeply meaningful for me. Thank you for your reaction. I wish you much success!

One of the key songs of 1980, in the transition from the old music to the new. Perhaps it's unsurprising that Bowie was able to tap into the new technology to update his sound in a way that impressed new young fans and still sounds modern today. The theme seems unrelatable to a 13-year-old kid but even though we knew nothing from drugs, we knew plenty about highs and lows of life.

Bowie and Kate Bush were artist that absolutely used the technology in music to progress their artistic progression back in the 80's and did it well.

Ashes to Ashes is such a great song - an open wound. David at his most honest. As far as the original Major Tom goes, I hear it literally also, but I have a different interpretation. Major Tom looks back on Earth, which is blue - sad. He is overwhelmed with depression and turns off his own communications. His last words are "tell my wife I love her very much, she knows." Then ground control says "Your circuit's dead, there's something wrong." I can also agree that the addiction theme works there as well, with him cutting off his own communications with the world.

Welcome to the world of Bowie. You never know what you're going to get, but you know it will be brilliant. My favorite album was Young Americans, his soul and R&B phase. Every song is absolutely incredible. I'd suggest the title cut, Young Americans, would be a good next reaction. Keep the Bowie coming!

There was a photo, of Bowie, in a full button shirt, with his arm raised up -seen as the fascist gesture. The same arm raise was from Rome as salute. Fascia a symbol of Rome, bundle of sticks. Bowie got sober.

Stunning song about addiction and a reflection on his life so far. Many of the characters resurfaced. For me perhaps my favorite of his. When he shot the video it was the most expensive ever at that time. RIP a true genius and a personal hero ❤

Think the line "Strung out in heaven's high hitting an all time low" sort of sums it up. A couple of other great drug use songs are "Heroin" by the Velvet Underground and "Needle and the Damage Done" by Neil Young.

The first Bowie song that I got into. A friend was a fan, and MTV was new in 1982 -and the amazing visuals of this. Bowie studied mime, and was a visual artist, as a musician.

David Bowie is the king of reinvention. When they were shooting the video an old man was in the shot. Do you know who that is? He was asked - yes a C@&& in a clown suit. Was his reply. Bowie thought the response was hilarious and brought him back to earth! Yes he was just a C$$$ in a clown suit!

You’re not wrong with your literal interpretation of Space Oddity, though like all great songs it can be heard on more than one level. Bowie wrote it after reading the Ray Bradbury story “Kaleidoscope”, which is about the terror and resignation of a man cast adrift from his spaceship and slowly falling to earth.

I think good good stories can always mean more than one thing. So once the record is cut what it meant before to the musicians is just one possibility among many.

I certainly don't consider a Space Oddity to be only about the world of being high or something. It talks about a lot of important things at the time, like going to the moon and the increasing pace of technology and how it can be alienating and all kinds of things. That's way too simplified of a view.

Although I like the video, it is none-the-less distracting at times. And although it helps in the interpretation, I prefer to experience Ashes To Ashes just listening and discovering. Maybe it's like the difference between a book and its movie. Anyway, amazing reaction to a first listen. It took me years and many listens to get a comparable level of understanding. Really appreciate CR's attentiveness and analysis. He's quickly bubbling up toward the top of my reactor channels list.
