David looks so cute! As for the part about recognizing a man by his short hair; well, does that mean that WOMEN SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO HAVE SHORT HAIR OR THEY MAY BE TAKEN FOR BLOKES? Same with them not wearing pants because SOME might not recognize that they are women! From one woman who has been called sir or the man, it is obvious that it had nothing to do with my hair or my pants, but only because I don't look like a Barbie, being born with a neutral face, and I don't dress either like the doll. Was I offended or hurt about the mistake? Not a bit. If you know who you are and you live in a free world, with mostly tolerant people, there is no issue; you can just have a smile then the person realizes their mistake, and that makes THEM embarrassed!!! 😁

What's funny to me about this is that only David and one other person really has what could be considered "long hair" nowadays. There are so many people out there with much longer hair and except for the occasional strict dress code in school or work, the only people that really care about how long your hair is are nosy a-holes. Long-haired men for the win 😁

SCREAMIN' LORD SUTCH preceded these dudes approximately half a decade @ that juncture:david supposedly stopped getting routine haircuts in '59. he allegedly sported 18 INCHES OF HAIR LENGTH in '60. ⁉️ beyond the shadow of a doubt,audiences musta held some interesting convos following those early shows. 🤣

A publicity coup for David and the rest of his 1964 into 1965 group, The Manish Boys. It worked and they were booked as support for Gerry And The Pacemaker and Gene Putney for a package tour of the UK the next year, 1965. Unfortunately though a single in March of that year ('Pity The Fool' / 'Take My Tip', including then session guitarist Jimmy Page) totally flopped, the live dates dried up, and David left the group. And he also ended up TRIMMING his hair in a more Mod style anyway after that, before fronting ANOTHER group, Davy Jones And The Lower Third for an even shorter time into early 1967.
