Band members can become closely knit together during tours, away from family, friends husband/wives. Maybe he was missing Iman... but still... 😉🧡

Excellent interview Gail Ann Dorsey did with Rolling Stone last month-January 2016. (It's online) I was curious to know why she was not on Blackstar and why. It may not have had anything to do with her not knowing Bowie had died. But she knew he had been sick, even in previous shows and in one where it was so hot onstage- he passed out. But eventually did live performing again as if he was never sick. She found out he died much like we all did, maybe moments sooner. At the time of the interview she said she was still in shock, I never got to see her in concert. But I was at the first three US tours for David Bowie. First 2- Spiders from Mars (supporting Ziggy Stardust) and Diamond Dogs (all at the legendary Tower Theatre) Perhaps she was at these concerts, especially being born and raised in philly, like me. I'd watch his live shows- on KZbin. I'd see her playing base and being mesmerized- who Is this awesome young lady. I hope Gail will be doing the live tribute in March.

+Giuliana Barone maybe that Rolling Stone interview may have answers. I think they were very close and had a deep admiration for each other, actually, from what I see. I think I had friended her on Facebook, but either way, I would never ask. It's still too fresh, traumatic. I respect her privacy. I have a sense she knew something was not right, and she mentions that in the interview. He was not doing things like emails and calls on holidays, birthdays, etc. like before. I completely understand the privacy. There's enough gossip in the supermarket tabloids- clearly he was way above that. I'm not going to speculate. I'm just grateful for his innovative music and that it blew me away when I and a friend put his name in the suggestion box in the early days of the tower theatre, when it was a great venue, very well managed (by Midnight Sun) concert hall, and 1 or 2 concerts later in 1972, they announce David Bowie and The Spiders From Mars were coming to the Tower for 1st US tour.

The World Learner: Those stilettos were Manolo Blahniks...I agree with you!!..part of the beauty for me is seeing the last 2 touring bands...but especially his interactions with Gail..hugging and kissing her...i.e...Absolute Beginners; or during the Uncasville Concert when concluding"Ziggy"...he stopped to walk over and hug her before finishing the song; David gazing at her while singing" I would be yourSlave; the Chance theater concert with just the 2 of them singing, i.e...during one rendition of " Stay"...he literally licked her...how about the " David being Naughty with GAD on you tube?(look it up)?,.David holding her hand as they walked off stage at the conclusion of many concerts,..too many instances 2 mention;...I have said before.....noone will ever know but these 2 about the status of their relationship...they appeared happy around each other.....and it is a " moot" point now....but there appears to be a closeness akin to a strong attraction-love???..David declared his love for Iman in 1992? and married her...and stayed married.....GAD..came into his life around 1995.....oh well!!
