I liked watching those two on stage...what a special bond they had. No doubt she misses David a lot and still does even now...

I found myself smiling throughout this video thinking of the wonderful bond they shared and then reality hits and I cry, remembering the loss we all share. Thank you for this beautiful piece.

I think a bit like her, David seams to be like a magic man that brings the light in the people he meets. I live a difficult life, struggling with many aspects of it in all the spheres of my life and listening to him, watching him inspires me and brings me joy and hope that one day, me too shale have a good life and be more confidant and happier than right now. I discovered him only recently and have been listening regularly to his music for about a year now. RIP and thank you for the light of your music.

Please please please, listen to Frank Sinatra, his soul was tortured in real life but his music will get you through anything, especially the sand ones, and the live shows he did when he was in his 60's and 70s. Frank Sinatra either loved you or hated you, there is no gray area in his life.

I'm truly amazed by this incredible video. I've always loved David Bowie's music but never knew of his infectious personality and wit. He is hysterical and fun. Now I know one reason I feel such a bond with him even tho he has died. Obviously the amazingly talent Gail Ann just caught his heart and vice versa. I did not know that David was such an affectionate guy. You can see how he loved to hug and be close to people he cared about. Wow, some of this just leaves me breathless. One thing I wonder about though, is all the kissing w/Gail. How did Iman feel about that? He kissed her 3x in about a minute in one of the shorts here. Not disrespecting him or her...I can see he's an affectionate man and maybe it's being caught up in the moments of sheer joy some lucky folks experience when doing what they love with someone as great and talented and loving as Gail. She looks like she's just nuts over him...altho in some videos, when he approaches her a little too strongly, she turns away and gives him a look. Oh David.

+gail katz Been a DB fan over 40 years and feel like I almost knew him personally from things that happened in my life re: David. One being, in 1980 when I met him and Iggy Pop in a Chicago dance club. I sat at his table for almost an hr., too nervous to speak plus the music was loud. When he got up to lv., I told him of my adoration of his music, what a huge fan I was, etc. I put my hand on his neck, pulled him close and kissed him on the lips.... to my surprise he kissed me back!! He was so approachable and loved his fans. But, re: Iman; she knew what he was like when she married him and a kiss is just a kiss, it doesn't have to be sexual - they both knew that. It's a European thing. I'm sure they had a blissful, happy, faithful marriage. I can't even imagine what she is going through since his passing, but doubt she'll ever fall in love w/ any other man again. I wouldn't if I were her.
@glindathegoodishwitch92448 жыл бұрын
+Cathy T OMG-I am so jealous, Cathy!!!!! You did the right thing to go for that kiss and to get one in return. He was gorgeous in 1980...did he have the blonde pompadour yet? WOW. What a story. I can see why you have special feelings for him....Yes, I agree on the part about Iman and I think kissing Gail so much was part of how wrapped up he got in the music and also how great she was as a musician, which enhanced his performance as well. He worked so hard up there and she didn't even join the band till he was in his late 40's, so I think he was very enamored of her talent and the good person she was. He seemed to hang with decent human beings because I think he had a lot of love in his heart. I love some of the videos of the Reality Tour that show him and the gang hanging out, being as candid as possible knowing they were being taped. Great fun except that was the heart attack tour.Thanks so much for sharing, Cathy, that warm and wonderful and exciting story about Starman. He was one incredible mind and talent.

Yes, I don't know why more isn't written about Coco; she was the only one with him from the get-go, and she was the catalyst in getting him out of the potential death trap, and into Berlin. Had she not been around, poor David wouldn't have been around. She must have really felt his loss badly.

It's been 5 years now since the Starman returned to the heavens. I watched the David Bowie Celebration concert over the weekend and felt so emotional watching Gail do Strangers When we Meet. But I'm telling you, seeing this video has me on the verge of tears even more. And I've seen it before, but it just drives home the point that David was magic and he with Gail was magic. David was really not of this Earth and he infused magic into everyone and everything he touched. He is everywhere. Thanks for this video, Sanna!!

Until recently, this song had a certain sadness because it was reminiscing about a reasonably distant memory. Now there's hope though; maybe she'll perform in Bowie's band again. I'm glad he's back and part of that is because SHE would be back too. She was and is essential to his modern day sound.
