This song fascinated me from the first moment when I bought the album in 1973 and still does. There's something magic in this song and is not only the fantastic piano but the way Bowie sings it (he was at his best and never reached that level again).

Halloween Jack95 Agreed. Let’s be honest with ourselves, Let’s Dance and all that followed were not the Bowie that we revered.

@@22448824 I think the Let's Dance is decent. But nowhere near The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs or Station to Station

This remains one of Bowie's most fascinating pieces. I don't believe he ever performed it live which I believe is a smart move. Couldnt possibly deliver as beautifully as this studio masterpiece. Garson's piano is superb and Bowies vocals supple as a baby's bottom!

Love the story that Bowie told Mike Garson to play what he wanted and the amazing weird piano playing is the result. Still finding it hard to listen to Bowie, used to listen to him every day. :(

One of Bowie's 4 or 5 greatest song compositions, perfectly played by the 'spiders' under Ken Scott's crystal clear production. Closes the magnificent 'Alladin Sane' LP, sounds more like a film song than anything Bowie would write again. The chord shifts are extraordinary, especially with the half step in the conclusion. Pure Genius. Critics tend to overlook Bowie's versatility in his song compositions. His vocabulary is expansive, 'Life On Mars' & 'Rock 'N Roll Suicide'... Master musician!

Lyrics She'll come, she'll go She'll lay belief on you Skin sweet with musky odor The lady from another grinning soul Cologne she'll wear Silver and Americard She'll drive a beetle car And beat you down at cool Canasta And when the clothes are strewn Don't be afraid of the room Touch the fullness of her breast Feel the love of her caress She will be your living end She'll come, she'll go She'll lay belief on you But she won't stake her life on you How can life become her point of view And when the clothes are strewn Don't be afraid of the room Touch the fullness of her breast Feel the love of her caress She will be your living end She will be your living end She will be your living end She will be your living end She will be your living
