Everyone watching, remember how happy this is making you feel, carry it through, anywhere, and everywhere you go. Remember, you feel good because of Bowie.

Your comment made me cry. I am sitting in a hospital, watching my husband of 42 years slip away from me. He is 65. When I was 12, I heard Space Oddity, and then--time passing as it does--song after song from David Bowie. He was my constant star through my life. Now losing David and my husband ... I don't belong in this world anymore.

One thing that can be overlooked with Bowie is the heart, the emotion in lots of his music. This, a song for his son, is filled with a father's love. Bowie loved deeply and this made him great.

I first heard Sufragette City in the Medford NJ public library around 1977ish. I then checked out Ziggy and began my appreciation of David and his music. Davids music was more wide-ranging than words can describe. I mean can Suffragette City, Space Oddity and Ziggy be any more diverse? The difference and appeal in his work is unmatched. Even more, David was unabashed in his ability to be himself personally, and I thank him for making it cool, and help a suburban boy understand differences in people. I have lost another part of my youth. Lou, Freddie and Mick are already there for you.

Good god damn, wow. What's incredible about Bowie is that unlike every other aging artist, I don't care to hear him redo his old songs (though I love em all), but I'm only interested in hearing what he's got going on now. That's so unique to him.
