I think Neil was the real villain of the series in a way. He was very hypocritical by being pally with Finchy yet objecting to a lot of Brent's coarse humour. Also the Swindon lot accused Brent of mucking around too much and then a minute later accused him of not being as fun as Neil.

Had he been closer. The bit that gets me and i hate to pick holes in the office as its sheer genius is that the music is playing at what would be an above average workplace party volume and dawn, the julian clary extra and the black man are a good distance away engaged in their own convo. Then just stop in horror at what brent has said not shouted. Anyway its still funny. Finchys little nod to brents they didnt write this is well done.

Neil is awful. He shows his true colours in the end when he tries to mock David’s date at the Christmas party. Typical Swindon slug.
