David Brown 30TD crawler

Recently aquirierd David Brown 30TD crawler. It was made on 3rd April 1951. The tractor had been stored away for a number of years. I replaced the diaphragm in the injector pump, Oil and diesel filters. I also sorted the wiring out so the starter switch works and she charges once again.

What a pity there wasn't a modern day equivalent based on something like a 1594 hydra shift

DB only smoked when driving a double chop on full load.

Lovely machine, like them a lot, a friends of mines got a 30TD to, excellent bit of kit, seems tidy, Is this the second David brown (30TD?) crawler in your collection? Sweet runner, look forward to more vids of it.

yes, this is the 2nd David Brown crawler. I wasn't looking for another but it was only about 5 miles away. My other DB is a earlier Petrol/T.V.O "Trackmaster ' model, serial No. 23 of 700 which were made. There is a 2 page article on its restoration in the Jan/Feb issue of "The vintage scene" magazine. Later came the 30T (petrol/T.V.O) and the 30TD (diesel) There was also a 40 series and a 50TD (6 cyl diesel) All the best 👍🏻

did the they have steering problems ?

hello Robert this tractor had been stood for years in a barn. The main clutch had stuck but soon freed off. the steering is similar to a cletrac, or Trackmarshall. They work through ecliptic planet gears. They are pretty much hassle free
