Disrespect? Disrespect is $160M dollar ransom, and performing like that in actual games. Throwing of the back leg into triple coverage on the season opener. And wondering why fans throw trash at you after you leave the field with a broken hand and the season lost after the first game. “I’m more confident than ever.” .....Yeah....

Couple of observations. David looks as if he throws footballs in his spare time. Dak only while he's being paid. The release. Dak releases early as if to air it out toward the target. David follows through with velocity to the target. Their careers went opposite directions, but you can see where scouts initially placed them in the draft.

Carr was maybe the most underutilized talent in the history of the NFL. On a team with an OL about as good as a high school squad, with few targets, and a coaching carousel. He wasn't bad during his years on the Giants, but that team was at a lull too, and by then the damage was done. Great person post career. Love reading his writing, and hearing his thoughts on players.

And you're basing this on a 30 second game of throwing a football at stationary round targets? How about the fact that among quarterbacks that threw for 500 or more attempts in 2019, Dak Prescott had more on-target throws and a higher on-target percentage than any other quarterback in that category (there were 15 QBs in that category)? Which is a better metric for how accurate of a passer a person is....seriously? This 30-second game, or 596 actual examples of passes being thrown in NFL games? There is nothing wrong with Dak.

That's a shame! Carr was drafted by a then-expansion team (Texans) with an aluminum foil offense. Carr proved to be legit-tough and could really take a beating. He's out of the League because people were scared he would end up shitting in a bag and speak random sentence fragments the rest of his life. David Carr in Houston is a prime reason why GM's should trust their Head Coaches. According to many interviews, Dom Capers knew he wanted a strong defense coming out of the gate and thus narrowed the first overall pick down to three players. The speed of Dwight Freeney, the power of Albert Haynesworth, or the versatility of one Julius Peppers. Apparently Capers liked Peppers best, reason being if Peppers didn't cut it on the line he could always move him to OLB. As he's discussing this with his staff, Charley Casserly (yes, the same Charley Casserley who ran Joe Gibbs out of Washington) calls up Dom stating that he had just locked up their quarterback. Capers had seen twice what happens to QB's with suspect O-lines, he had planned on taking speedy David Garrard in the second just in case his O-line was the same. Capers knew from that point, the Texans weren't an uphill battle; it was going to be Everest. So say, Capers manages to get Carte Blanche and he takes Peppers with the first overall. Carr drops to 3rd overall and gets picked up by the Lions who are spared the Joey Harrington era. Nothing changes though save that Carr gives Detroit an extra win or two thus moving them down a couple spots in the draft and doesn't take nearly as many hits. After seeing Julius Peppers win DROY and just barely misses DPOY, Capers now has complete control of the team. Wanting to build up the defense some more, he does not take Andre Johnson as David Garrard is still running for his life, but has the athletics to do so up the field giving Capers an excuse to not give him help just yet. Capers takes Terrance Newman, the Jets take Charles Rogers to help out Chad Pennington, and Andre Johnson falls to the Lions. Now Carr has a deep threat with Johnson, a solid second with Tai Streets, and with Eddie Drummond as his safety valve, the Lions are looking up. However the lack of a solid running game and an injury to Drummond would have the Lions just miss the playoffs in Carr's third year. Seeing the need for a full-time runner, the Lions pick up Steven Jackson in the 2004 Draft. In 2004, the age of Carr begins and the passing duels between him and Aaron Rodgers in the late 2000's become must see TV.

The notion that Dak does nothing but check down is statistical nonsense. In 2019, Dak was #2 in the entire league in passing yards in the air. These are passing yards minus the yards gained from receivers running after the catch. A check down QB doesn't get to be #2 in the league in this category. The guys leading in this stat are the ones who throw the ball down field the most.

Dak walked into an ideal situation. Top five offensive line, top 5 running back, (great running game), good receivers, (except for the first half of 2018) and an offense that was tailored to his skill set. (short range throws)... Yet, he has still looked very shakey at times against good defenses. He often holds the ball too long because he doesn't see the field as well as he should, which contributes to him not throwing with much anticipation, lacks that super-quick release, and we all see way "too many errant throws", as Troy Aikman put it. Accuracy is something you can improve and tweak incrementally. But, ultimately it's like speed, you either have it or you don't. While Dak is a great guy, quite durable and somewhat athletic, he is not a great passer of the football. Truly accurate quarterbacks, who can make great pre-snap reads, throw with anticipation, truly make a dramatic, (force multiplier) type of impact if they consistently have a clean pocket and receivers that create lots of separation as Dak has had... not to mention a great running game. I'm not sure Andy Dalton will fare much better, or even if David Carr would under similar circumstances when he played, but Dallas definitely needs to upgrade at QB if they want to have any shot at returning to the Super Bowl. Prescott would be the perfect backup QB. It's not a black or white thing, he just doesn't have what Russell Wilson, DeShaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes have; Great Arm Talent.

30 mil my ass can we please find a QB who can put the ball in front of the WR or an OC who will just build his gameplan around the top RB in the game right now. So many good plays left on the field because the WR has to constantly adjust to underthrown or passes behind them.

David Carr and Joey Harrington are the two qb I saw come out of college with what appeared to be all the tools and handed just awful Offensive Lines, they were scrambling for their lives. Don't think either of them had a chance to develop with the OL they were given.
