Great stuff!!!! I liked hearing about the stylistic differences in McDaniels and Derek, I'm curious how McDaniels was as a coach/leader. I remember a post game presser where McDaniels put correcting other players on the captains, saying he would never throw another player under the bus and then preceded to do both of those aforementioned things....also not utilizing a players strengths seems like it would turn out to be the forced struggle that it was. Also, interesting is that no raiders coach got fired "accountability" but Derek did. Its seems like Mcdaniels is: staff over organization, and scheme over team.... Anyway, keep pushing out content!!!! GL to Derek next year!!!! LG!

I enjoyed this. As a die hard Raider fan I loved Carr, and still am grateful for giving it his all. Saddened to see McDaniels tarnish the man’s effort here in a single season, but maybe he deserved to be somewhere more successful and more promising. New Orleans, take care of our guy! Carr has thrown for 35,000 yds through nine years. That places him 4th all time through nine years behind Ryan, Marino, and Manning. He is 6th all time in TD's through nine years behind Manning, Wilson, Marino, Ryan, and Favre. The problem is that they didn't fix the defense. They had an average defense of 26th in his time with the Raiders. Defense wins championships, but you have to have a QB to get you there.

I wasn't pissed about the Raiders moving on from Carr. I was pissed at how they did it and the fact that it appeared to be premeditated from the start. The strange contract,the shitty play calling that cost us 6 double digit leads. I really think they used Carr to lure Davonte Adams and then they shit on him. This guy who at times over 9 years was the only shining light for this franchise. He always played hard and his desire to win was never in doubt. He gave 100 percent every down. He was the greatest leader our team has seen with the exception of AL Davis and John Madden. Guy never had a defense and until Gruden came he never had any real talent around him. Had 6 head coaches. I'm ashamed of how the Raiders treated a guy who gave the organization and the fans so much. Derek Carr is an elite quarterback,an excellent leader but even more so he is a good and honest man. I'll always be a Derek Carr fan and once a Raider always Raider. I hope he wins the Super Bowl. I wish Carr and his family all the blessings and good fortune they deserve. And shout out to David Carr for being a great big brother. He never hesitated a second to stick up for his brother.

Two important takes that I took from this interview is that it’s harder to win in the AFC compared to the NFC and that you can’t pay a QB 40 million a year on a team full of holes. That’s exactly why the Raiders had to move on from DC! That’s the reason I don’t understand the resentment towards the Raiders. It was time to move on for both sides.

Derek has to get used to his new team. Has a small chance of making the playoffs his 2nd/3rd year. Then he competes against Cowboys Eagles Niners I wish him luck. My advice is don't overthrow guys and don't throw the ball out of bounds for no reason. Don't be afraid of the pass rush, but stay safe. You have been awesome representation for the Raiders I wish you well. I was at the game when you broke your leg.if you did not get hurt you would have won that playoff game. Fresno Oakland Vegas New Orleans Ya never know what path God has us on. Do your thing, Derek, and glad you have your families full support.

I'm a Raider fan, I won't be rooting for the Saints, but I like Derek. He was my QB for 9 years and he'll always be a Raider. on January 1st I called it that he would be signing with the Saints and honestly it wasn't a hard call to make. Everything just made sense. Great defense. The HC who drafted him originally, solid orgasation, Fairly week division so with him they instantly become the favorites to win it. Young talented receiver in Olave. Doesn't hurt that the division is all in the south and the homefield is inside either, even though Derek will probably say playing in the cold would've been fine. It honestly seems like the perfect fit and I never figured he'd accept a trade unless he was somehow told he'd get way less as a free agent. No bad feelings, happy for him!

I am stoked that Derek is with the Saints. My last day as a Raiders fan was the moment they benched Derek. In the future, I wouldn't mind seeing Te or Hunter leave the Raiders and head to NO, but my days of rooting for the Raiders are over.

Thanks for all the info - I agree about Steve Young, (even as a lifelong Raider fan) Living in the Bay Area I watched 49er games when the Raiders weren't on TV and of course all the 49er highlights on the news. He and Peyton are my top 2 Field Generals. Brady is a genius of course, but those 2 paved the way. Very happy Derek is a Saint, and wish him all the best, except when he plays the Raiders-I know Maxx will be on him the whole game!!

He reminds me of Montana in that 49 west coast offense Derek seems to have the ability to run that type of offense his football IQ is way up if the Saints play him the way he's wired to play they will go far! No QB can make it in Vegas with McDaniel's style of coaching not even Brady (unless He's running the show) or Rodgers they need a rookie to develop....

Derek’s Carr Book will go something like this…. 2014: Khalil Mack drafted in 1st Round, Derek Carr in 2nd Round & Gabe Jackson in 3rd Round . Head Coach Dennis Allen Fired after 0-4 start & Tony Sparano takes over and bury’s a ball for a fresh start but Team still goes 4-11 2015: Jack Del Rio is hired & drafts Amari Cooper (Bust) in 1st Round but they still go 7-9 2016: Karl Joseph (Bust) is drafted in first round and Team makes Playoffs with 12-4 record BUT Derek Carr breaks Ankle in 2nd to last game in the Colts and could have got #2 seed with 13-3 record had Matt McGloin beat Broncos in last regular season game. Instead McGloin gets bounced in first round of Playoffs by the Texans. Davis fires the best thing going for the Raiders in OC Bill Musgrave and replaces him with Todd Downing 2017: Gareon Conley (Bust) drafted in 1st Round & Jack Del Rio gets Fired with a disappointing 6-10 season 2018: Davis fires McKenzie for Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden. They take over and go 4-12, yikes! These bozos have the worst ever draft picks and trade some of the best away In Mack and Cooper and they officially become known as Minnie, Moe, & Jack in the 3 Stooges! One bright spot they draft Kolton Miller in 1st. 2019: Team makes Hard Knocks Documentary as the preseason laughing stock team starring Antonio Clown who drops in on a Hot Air Ballon and tells his team he froze his feet and calls Mayock a Cracker then gets released as a free as a bird! They draft Cleland Ferrel (Bust), Josh Jacobs, Jonathan Abram( Bust) in 1st round. They Also released Karl Joseph(bust) for nothing when he was a 1st round pick! But managed to trade Conley another 1st round bust! Cracks in the OLine begin by trading Gabe Jackson. The team goes 7-9 that season! 2020: They draft Henry Ruggs (Bust) & Damien Arnett (Bust) in 1st round, Trent Brown almost killed by Raider Staff when they gave him an IV so he requests a trade and goes back to Patriots. Team disappoints with 8-8 season! Then More cracks in the OLine when Donald Penn is not re-signed. 2021: The most bizarre season ends up with a 10-7 record and makes the Playoffs under interim Special Teams Coach Rich Bisaccia . Bizarre because Gruden gets Canceled, Ruggs goes to Jail, Arnette dismissed due to internet machine gun threats and they get No compensation when he was a 1st round pick! Mike Mayock Fired but still managed to draft Alex Leatherwood (Bust) and the OLine a complete mess when Rodney Hudson the OLine captain is traded. 2022: Davis hires Josh McDumbass & Ziegler and become the NEW 3 Stooges show at Allegiant Stadium in LV! New Regime tried tanking every game but Carr battled and managed to get 6 wins regardless of his own head coach opposition plots to lose! Carr still managed to get Devante Adams over 1500 receiving yards and 15 TD’s with both making the ProBowl. Leatherwood (Bust) dismissed by new regime with No Compensation when Mayock picked him up in 1st round as well as Abram (Bust) 2023: DC is glad to be released by the Organization in this 9 year Circus Fest led by the Mr. Stooge in Mark Davis!

People always want to crown these newer QBs as the best ever. I'd like to see Brady face the defenses of old. Today, you sneeze at Brady, and he's crying to the officials for a flag and usually gets it. Go back and watch some old Raiders games from the 60s & 70s and see how much punishment they inflicted on opposing QBs. It was a 60 minute brawl with last man standing wins the game. The Raiders vs KC, or Raiders vs Steelers were some brutal games where no one especially the QB was off limits. These viscous hits are gone from the modern game, but how well would these modern QBs have fared than? How long would there careers have lasted vs today's "hands off" rules?

Seems like DC4 was a victim of mismanagement that culminated down to value VS need. DC4 isn't perfect but he's still a good QB. Raiders have too many holes to keep DC4 on the payroll. I don't blame mcdaniels for wanting his own guys, and I don't blame carr for being upset about it. It is what it is.
