David Cassidy is so honest and humorous here. Really great. He was a great musical talent, unfortunately only a commodity for the music industry to make money as a teen idol. He had this combination of sexy innocence, sensitivity and sophistication in his prime time when he was the prettiest guy on the planet. This summarizes his life only briefly, because of course he was so much more. Because without a doubt he had an incredibly great voice! And this way we will remember David Cassidy. RIP

David's passing is like a death in the family. When I was young I never knew much of The Partridge Family. I don't know how I could have missed it. But now that I'm 64 years old it's shocking, sobering....He gave us innocence and now from a time so long ago. I'm literally Spellbound. I know he had his ups and downs, but if I could say anything to him at all, it would be, you were born to give us a sense of direction of morality. The Pride, the dignity...Pure of Heart, Thank you David.

I've loved David from the age of 7 (my very first concert!!!) I find him so honest in this interview. I know he really struggled with finding himself after The Partridge family. At times, I had the thought that he tried too hard to be the cool rock star. Finding ones self is a life long process. I met him in 1990 in Toronto, ON...and have the polaroid of he and I on my refridgerator. My first love ;)

David always comes across very articulate and has a sense of humour. I really enjoy this video as it shows him as a genuinely humble guy who really wanted what we all think people should have ,love and happiness . So sad that he may never have got that completely....Such a waste of a wonderful talent (because of his addictions )that he couldn't get on top of. Hope he has peace ,love happiness now xo ❤❤❤💞💞

You'd be surprised how alcohol can change someone 180 degrees. After constant drinking behind closed doors they tend to lose their "appeal". I speak from experience. On another show later in life, he admitted that he, his dad, and his grandad were all full blown alcoholics. Still, he did go through AA, however, the breakup of his last marriage had something to do with his drinking. It's always tragic.

In the 80's most musicians changed their look and sound to be "relevant", some with better results than others. Look at Rod Stewart and Kiss. Big hair was the rage. David's voice sounds great, and i like this song. It bums me out that there was so much keyboard and electronics. Where is the guitar?! That was the 80's...You go DC!

I am a big David Cassidy fan and I am so glad I learned about the word he almost said to mean "fool" being an insult in Yiddish. This was an interesting interview; I am sorry things weren't easier for him and of course I am sorry he is dead. He did not mention the girl being killed at one of his concerts being related to why he left the business. He did have albums in 1976. He didn't say why his 1985 "Romance" album was not released in America. I'd have liked to know what his favorite Partridge Family and solo songs were. I played David on two radio stations.
@milliecampbell1222 жыл бұрын
I disagree with you Bob.. he said that he was going to retire after this farewell concert. And it was a tragic accident that the girl happened to pass away and is second to last concert. 😢 David took it real hard 😭. he sent flowers to the hospital and called her parents and said he is aware of her passing away and he didn't want to go to her funeral because he didn't know her and didn't want to turn her funeral into a circus with him appearing and they blessed him. You can find it in the interview with A&E biography I think.

2002 A & E biography David Cassidy..I think 🤔
@bobdavis48482 жыл бұрын
@@milliecampbell122 Right. As long as by "this" concert you mean the 1974 concert where the girl B.W. was hurt then died. So you disagree with me about what? I knew about the kind ways you described that David reacted to the tragic death at that concert. I'm sure the A&E interview was one I saw years ago. Where do you think I am wrong? Have a nice day.
@milliecampbell1222 жыл бұрын
Thank for replying Bob. Yes it was the concert in 74. From what I understand she had a weak heart but still wanted to go see David Cassidy (her parents knew about her having a weak heart) but let her go. She got so excited her heat gave out 😢.. Have a nice day to Bob

Well, where's George M in this clip then, since DC always claimed he only did playback once? (and this was not that time) Just kidding, love DC, but this era is not my cup of tea, neither the blond hair. He somewhat developed some theatrical manners over the years. Thought he was superduper cool during the seventies, his stage language was ultra cool and subtle, he was steemy hot, had such presence there was no need for theater, but then here (also later) he was too theatrical for my taste. However, I think in his last years, when looking at performances, he seemed as himself again and got rid of that theater thing and kind of grooved with the music he played. Also his style on later days (adored his seventies laidback style, but also the early 90) got back to cool and casual again. Liked him more natural I guess.
@keithyoong16 жыл бұрын
As far as mannerism, DC's got it. It's the upbringing. Not just on TV, but in real life, too.
