I just heard this song for the first time last Sunday performed by our worship team. They did an awesome job, but it was spine tingling to hear it done by the man who at the very least got it on the radio, if not wrote it -- I am guessing both, after all, he is obviously very gifted, I an looking forward to hearing more from David Dunn.

Klove, Christmas is a pagan holiday...Jesus was not born on that day and it is not of Him. Before Jesus was born, pagans celebrated the birth of Mithras, the roman Egyptian god, and Mithras was born on December 25, so please, God also does not want to be worshipped the way that the pagans worship gods, and so also Jesus does not like how many people are depressed because they do not have anyone to celebrate with them, and suicide rates go up...also Jesus never celebrated His birthday in the bible nor did Hecommand us to celebrate it. The reason Christmas is about the birth of Christ is because the Catholic Church compromised and made it easier for the pagans to convert by changing the pagan holidays to be Christian holidays...other than that, there is nothing wrong with singing about the fact that Jesus came and was born and died for us...but still, Christmas is pagan... Seek Jesus.

Was December 25th a pagan celebration? Yes. BUT Christmas was ALWAYS about Christ. We do not celebrate whatever the pagans did on the 25th, but we celebrate something infinitely more significant and holy. And yes, we do not know the exact birthdate of Jesus, but it doesn't mean we can't celebrate it in December, on the 25th. If one doesn't know the birthdate of an adopted child, do we not celebrate it at all? Additionally, astronomers have traced what could have been the star of Bethlehem back 2000 years around December! Not conclusive evidence, but the point remains: we don't need to know the exact date to celebrate something.
