When it was 1,2,3,4, Murray, Djokovic, Nadal, Federer, in any order, it was prime tennis.

No doubt . Some Fed fans think prime tennis is between 2004-2010😂

Ya it happened 2008-2012 after that never again. I would include wawrinka too cause he was able to play his best at the most important tournaments, including beating the world number 1 on the way to making all four of his grand slam finals

@@Tennislover511i would say 2008-2015. Novak and Murray were far from their prime in 2008, 2009, 2010 (albeit still very good players). Wawrinka’s peak was probably 2013-2016, and he won his first major in 2014. Federer was still elite in 2014/2015 (not in 2013 though) and closer to his prime than Djokovic pre 2011. The strongest years in sheer competition was probably 2011-2015, because that’s the best example of an era where all 5 players were at or close to their peaks. Obviously it’s impossible to find a stretch of 5 seasons where they’re all in peak form, but 2011-2015 was the closest thing to it. Except for the FO 2013 and USO 2014, every single slam final involved 2 of Djokovic, Nadal, Federer, Murray and Wawrinka. That’s 10 of 12 slams being solely “big 5” if such a thing were to exist. With the exception of Cilic, every single major final winner was a one of those 5 players.
