The great Bassist Lee Sklar the Seawind horn section. Guitarist Jay Graydon is a awesome Guitarist. And great vocalist . I got hip to Guitarist Jay Graydon back in the winter of 1977. He did a lot of the Rhythm Guitar on the Captain Fingers Album solo project by Guitarist Lee Ritenour. And Jay threw down on some funky chord progressions on that project. Jay is a very talented Guitar soloist as you all heard him perform. Basskat Detroit MI.

It was back in 1980, I got into Waseda Univ. as a student, and spent days for part time jobs and parties. At a mall where I had a part time job, a senior sales man usually listened to Air Play album, and it was so new and flesh to me that I was amazed. Then I bought a Painoneer record player, amp, and speakers with monthly installment and Air Play album. The record was gone somewhere since I played too many times. Their music sounded so different to me, and still are very lively in 2020s.

All of a sudden there’s all these people posting on KZbin about how great Jay Graydon is. I had gone to Berklee in Boston and was already a huge fan of his in 1984! He has been a hero of mine ever since I was old enough to go buy my own records, and then had Jarreau and MT albums. Guitar player, producer, singer, composer, arranger, engineer, teacher, synth programmer and on and on! He’s at the top of a very short list of musicians of an historic level and significance. And he worked his ass off for it. He’ll always be my guitar, music, producer hero. Has been for 45 years and counting. Thanks Jay for all the insight and education, and great music. Now if he would just post the music and tab on his site of the second half of the Twilight Tone solo. 😃. jk

David Foster and Jay Graydon make magic together. Very good friends and music partners. Let's not forget Jay and his most notable work with the late and legendary Al Jarreau, which David also paired with Jay to help on a number of songs with. Airplay would have gone heights if Jay agreed to continue in the band. In 2014, he mentioned in an interview how much he regrets not agreeing on going on a tour when David asked him to. They had different work commitments at the time. Thank you so much for posting this and reminding us of the magic these two create in unity.
