David's guitar solo here is mystifying -- like all of his solos are ... simply jaw dropping. What an amazing voice this man STILL has.

@cobykoster85699 жыл бұрын
Yes, this man indeed improves with age. And what a treat and such magical harmories with Crosby and Nash. So glad I 'lived' in the 70ies. And had to pleasure to see the 'man' at Knebworth in 1975, Pink Floyd doing 'Dark Side of the Moon'. The memorie has NEVER left me.

Well, with 400.000 people, how MAGICAL that was. (remember how the sun and wind set as the pig slowly made its way through the air in the direction of the stage, and exploded?) I was there too with my oldest sister from Holland, a day/night NEVER to forget! Met my Aussie man there by the way and now 42 years later still loving living there with now playing this song on a sunday morning loud through the speakers. Ah, how good life is eh? Oh shit, how funny, I was the one above making the comment. Ah, better roll one, what do ya reckon? ;-)

I love this song so much!!! On A Island is one of the greatest albums in the world!!! When I listen to this song I can feel a smell of the sea and the openness of the sky and space. I would give anything to get David`s guitar skills. This man can do the same influence with one string as someone can do with six strings. SUCH AMAZING!!!

I'm so glad he has left us these epic performances to value and enjoy before he sits his Strat down for good...Thanks David for some amazingly superb goodies we'll surely never forget in a lifetime!

I like that comment. The Michael Jackson of guitar. So true this guy is above them all. Im not talking guitar technique or shredding etc. Im talking about music. Music that hits you deep within. Music that touches you in one way or another , you cannot explain it. How on earth did a human being make such fantastic sound,I don't know but hell this is good. Some people are just made different and Dave Gilmour amongst others is one of them. Stunning

To those asking what pedal this is: This is the Digitech Whammy pedal kit. Google it. It's a $200 pedal device that is stunning in it's capabilities. Gilmour is the only guitarist I know that uses it in this fashion. He's configured it to do the 2 octave bend DOWN because he orients the pedal upside-down to accommodate his pedal board space on stage. These pedals are red and the video shows him stepping on it many times. In my opinion, Gilmour plays this better live than on the record.

I hear you. I know one can't really go by pictures and interviews but he and his wife certainly give every impression of being devoted to one another, even after 20+ years. Nearly every photo I see of him, he's just beaming. Going by the lyrics that he HAS written on his own and the way he looks, I think Gilmour is in a very good place in his life now and I suspect that is due in at least some part to having found a great love.
