This song was the first song to really reach me at age 12 or 13. It pulled at the depths of my soul. Sad to say, this version pales by comparison to any of the other versions I've heard, but it hints at the beauty of the original and is a unique take.

I've heard plenty of women nail it. It's not impossible. Aussie Floyd comes to mind. This seemed rearranged to fit the overall more blues feel that David is solo. Imo

I was in the 5th row, section C. Unfortunately I had the bad luck of sitting behind a narcissistic AH that decided he was going to talk LOUDLY all during the show. Flew from Seattle to LA, got a nice hotel, paid $900 each for two seats to listen all night to a jerk. I asked him politely if he would tone it down so we could hear and he said that he was going to talk whether I liked it or not, because he had bought his seats. 😤 I think the kid next to the jerk, boyfriend or son, not sure, got really embarrassed, and they ended up leaving before the end.

That is outrageous. Makes you wonder why he even bothered coming. I saw them 5 times in '94 & at every show the audience was quiet until the cheering between songs & no cellphone screens staring back in your faces. People need to be quiet, put the phones down & be in the moment, it may never come around again.

OK so figure out how to go back in time to 1990 (Knebworth festival in London), that was the only occasion Clare sang the song live with Floyd. Dont get me wrong, I strongly agree the studio version is unique and incomparable, but there have been live "versions" that really have been memorable, and this one was really fantastic in my opinion.

Different times, absolutely a different context of this tour than that of 1994 (still as PF). I think we have to give credit to David and whoever participated in this version, is absolutely stunning. Music criteria and an open mind is necessary to recognize this.
