"What we experience is hardly a way of life, exists in itself like geometry, is in fact a construction like Euclid's, and in the same way changes our mind. We have to rethink a way of being that is chiefly a way of looking." Excerpt from "Wood, Paper, Stone " poem by May Sarton

Awesome!!! the entire thing. Structures are not objects but actions. I totally agree, we observe that especially at the subatomic scale. However, at this level of magnification, we could also note that a microscopic object embedded in a larger structure (say, an electron inside a crystalline lattice, the latter's parameters and forces serving as "invariant constrain"), an electron is BOTH, an action (moving) and an object on the receiving end of all its neighbours forces/actions. I have a question: "As soon as a pattern of action shows bifurcation, you are forced to create a higher level of abstraction in order to account and to compare difference." I gather, this is "abstraction" from the Marxian Dialectic (as well as system's theory/cybernetics). I couldn't quite understand the reason for the need to go to a higher level of abstraction. Are we talking about going for an individual to a group? And what is a bifurcation in a human terms? Is it possible to get the text of Law's and Ongaro's paper, please? I take the 1st question back. I realized that the by the 'higher level of abstraction' they probably meant taking a larger overview but not stepping up to *higher scale,* at the same level of magnification, that is. The 2nd question about getting the paper still stands. :)))

Will there be an upload of later seminars, including the last week’s one on Bullshit jobs, for those of us who missed it? Thanks!
