One of my buddies was one of the background cast for the show and he said all the main cast got a moment to meet the background cast, he said Dave was freaking awesome and was a genuine dude who just loved to converse and cares. He’s a normal dude…. Wish I could say the same about the other cast tho.

I’ll always love Hot Ones because Sean’s meticulously curated questions really make the guests have fun in the interview and think. he doesn’t stick to the same mundane questions that most interviewers ask. It’s so nice to see their faces light up or look shocked when he asks a very unique or deep dive kind of question.

My favorite thing about this show is the moment you catch them off guard. The question that focuses on 20 years ago or the side project they think won't get any attention or the one passion they have outside of the spotlight. The celebs get so used to the press tour and you never focus on the next big thing they are having to promote. When you drop the question that makes them say "man you really do your research" that's always a great moment in these interviews. That's the point when most of them let go of the interview persona and let their real selves out.

@@cjtrules1 can't completely blame the interviewers, most of those press junkets are "ok, you have 5 minutes with them..... the last one is done, your time starts now. GO!" and your boss has given you 4 minutes of questions to read to them. they are always bored in them because they have to answer the same set of questions over and over again just so the interviewer can be on camera with them while being asked. if it was just print and the production companies would give out a list of pre-answered questions, i bet we would be able to get better interviews.

The questions are unique and varied, they're interesting to us and it's obvious they're interesting to your guest too, it's so nice to see the look on their faces when they're getting asked questions other than the usual, "How did you lose so much weight?" "What's your workout routine?" and all the other cliched trash they've been asked a thousand times. Add to that the fact they're put at ease and then broken down with trying to deal with the extreme heat of the wings and we all get to see honest, approachable, open and genuine people instead of the facade they usually are required or forced to put forward. I have never seen an interview show have a guest I know nothing about and am pretty sure I wouldn't be into whatever their thing is, and still be so enthralled. Even if I still wouldn't care to get into that interviewees work... the interviews are still awesome. With like what.. a handful of duds out of a mountain of gems? Hot Ones is a national treasure.

@@JohnCWannamaker Yes absolutely. The show really hit lightening in a bottle. I know it may have sounded annoying, bringing up the rest of the crew, but when I go through the comments it’s always focused on just Sean, like they compliment HIS research, questions etc. I just wish the show as a whole got more love. Sean is without a doubt so incredibly good as an interviewer. The show is so many things and you never know how people will react (DJ Khalid😂) or what you’ll learn. You’re description of the show as a national treasure is spot on.I love the show for the exact same reasons you expressed!

David Harbour is honestly one of my favourite actors, everything he says is so true especially when it comes to the characterisation of the people he plays.
