For the love of- It doesn't make sense that the body double (Venom) should sound so different from the person he's imitating. Dont you think people like Kaz and Huey would notice if Big Boss suddenly sounds like someone different? Kiefer should remain Big Boss's voice in his older age, and Hayter can come back as a young Solid Snake.

I mean… Solid Snake sounding EXACTLY like Naked Snake (Big Boss) was bullshit too though. Solidus nor Liquid sounded like him during his younger years. And bizarrely, an elderly Sold Snake didn’t sound like an elderly Big Boss, despite sounding exactly like him when he was younger. Make it make sense… Personally, I’m of the opinion that David Hayter shouldn’t have been the one to voice Naked Snake. If the character was voiced by a different actor from Snake Eater onwards, such inconsistencies wouldn’t exist.

@@olivier4916 Kiefer's voice was a legit good fit for BB. Its just a shame they spent all this money to hire him just to have him not say very much. I know that what they really wanted was his facial tracking performance to do some of the talking, but still. What makes sense for Metal Gear as a franchise is for Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 to be remade. We could have David Hayter and Kiefer Sutherland bouncing off each other as Solid Snake and Venom Snake/Big Boss and that would be awesome to hear. All these lofty ideas for a MGS1 remake make far more sense for MG1 and MG2. I can't see some kind of semi-open world shadow moses working when the original game is designed to be so linear with most gameplay happening indoors. MG2 in particular would be perfect for a full open world remake considering how big Zanzibar Land actually is and you could reintroduce and enhance the survival mechanics from MGS3, while intensifying the open world espionage gameplay from MGSV.

if i recall correctly konami said they would be keeping all the old voice acting as well as recording a couple new lines to accommodate for modern control changes and new mechanics. If I had to put money on it I'd say thats probably what Hayter was recording for, that or promotional material for the game.

Well for MGS1 the way they recorded the lines they couldn't reuse them for a remake. So if they remake it the only option is to rerecord lines.

I am hoping we get an remake of Metal Gear (1987) and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake (1990). The story of Solid Snake fighting Big Boss and his army I feel has to be retold for modern gaming. Last, the duel between Solid Snake vs Venom Snake, Gray Fox and later the real Big Boss.

3:33 I mean interrogating enemies is the same in MGSV so I wouldn’t say they need to do it differently for remakes of Portable Ops or Peace Walker. Also you say they would have to remake the cutscenes as if they didn’t for delta snake eater or wouldn’t for other games.

nah not really interrogating on portable ops and peace walker is cartoony and doesn't make sense such as making random shouting noises or silly sound effects, in mgs v the enemies speak Russian and African and you can hear them speak it, and yeah of course they would remake the cut scenes its a "remake" comic style cutscenes wont cut it, peace walker had actual cutscenes but only a few the game pracitcally was a comic book, and deserves full on scenes

An issue they ran into with Twin Snakes is the old audio with better equipment had a ton of background noise (you could hear the traffic driving by).

If they have the original files, there’s no reason they couldn’t use the PO and PW comic art cutscenes. The only real issue is the image resolution.

I found out a long time ago that the new voice lines are just for new sounds for CQC and new voice lines while interrogating enemies, including cool Kojima surpises during these conversations, such as Snake acknowledging Death Stranding and a new MGS game.

0:21 well David did voiced Solid Snake in 4 MGS game (including in MGS3 Snake vs Monkey mini-game) while he voiced Big Boss 3 times, only MGSV Hayter didn't voiced Big Boss nor Venom Snake, he didn't even voiced Solid Snake in Ape Escape 3 which it strange, he doesn't remember if he even involved to voice him or not for Metal Gear Rising of that spirit sword that never came out worldwide

If for Delta probably for environment of the world or MGO for Delta also if they remake PO they can afford to change the story because it not Kojima game like most MGS games and to have MGS3 and PO and PW and MGSV more connections in the story they can have Skullface appear in PO or have a side mission that you recruit a medic that one day becomes Venom Snake

Imagine they combine the fob style with the map of MGS1, that will be very interesting. The problem is the Soliton radar. If you can have a radar that locates all the enemy in the area, that will be too easy and it will ruin the gaming experience. I guess Konami will change the setting of the Soliton radar if they want to remake MGS1.

Or they'd have to make the maps bigger, and the enemy vision larger. Like a similar layout but bigger game overall. I feel like MGS1 for today's standard is a little too small. It's just one chapter in MGS4 and several areas are connected to one map there.

I am so not a fan of David Hader. I’ve never seen a voice actor so emotionally attached to a fictional character… the way he acted when he found out Keith Sutherland was going to be the voice in phantom pain. He act like he lost a damn child or something… like you’re not the brains behind the game nor were you the first person thought of to be the voice actor you just knock off version of Kurt Russell, which is basically why he got the job..
