He's not in his twenties anymore, and his flying-roundhouse kick days are probably done, but jeez, what a frontman. This kind of song suits him. I lived in la during the 80s and was in the music business and hung around with many folks like Randy Castillo, Dave Amato ect. I got invited to the 1984 Van Halen Christmas party for friends and family isotrope studios. Halfway through the show for the family they all left went backstage came out all dressed in Santa Claus outfits and played the rest of the show dressed as Santa.

@@spaceace4387 Yeah he wasn't for everyone, but they were a hell of a lot more fun to watch live than with Sammy Hagar. They portrayed a partying band, not so much with Hargar. Sammy Hagar was better on his own before joining Van Halen as well. They both became a different band after that . They had some hits, but I don't think fans really cared about that. Not the 70s early 80s fans.

With Hagar they wrote a couple of ballads per album which yes was a little different (although I'll Wait was a Roth song) but the rest of the album was the same hard rock style as the Roth years (I mean seriously try listening to Get Up). And when I go to a concert I listen with my ears, not my eyes. I couldn't care less how great of a dancer Roth is, and boy him intentionally messing up the lyrics got old very quickly.
