Love what Drew said about Letterman fully embracing the moment Drew went up on that table. Allowing her to just be, without shaming. Just straight humor and love. I get it, Drew... And the wanting to reciprocate that openness and acceptance of people freely being themselves.

I remember watching this on Letterman that night. At the time, Drew had a 'wild child' reputation, so when it happened, I wasn't surprised. If anything, to me, it came off as wild, but cute gesture. Had she faced the audience, maybe the reaction would have been different, but it was all for David, and in previous interviews, he had always treated Drew with kindness. I'm so proud to witness the woman she has become. Beautiful inside and out.

It wasn't a Leno burn. It was saying that he thought it was something special for him and it would be crushing if it turned out that it was something she does on late night shows. If Merv Griffin was still on the air, it easily could've been a Merv reference.

Dave was one of my many inspirations I chose television and film as a career. I even had a cake at my high school open house just before college, with a caricature of Dave holding my own Top 10 list. I worked in TV for 18 years, but I’ve never had quite the moments that this show did over the years. I’d have absolutely loved to have worked for Dave. I think we have similar senses of quirky irreverent humor, and I’m originally from the Midwest too. I just get him. Only the first 8 years or so of my career were really comfortable, with the next 10 being a see-saw of freelancing with full time work, being out of work, freelancing with partial work, struggling, and most recently and for a long time being unemployed. I’m now 44 and have pretty much lost all hope, but I wish I could have worked on Letterman. It just would have clicked. Drew is another who I grew up with, almost in the same generation. From an early age, Steven Spielberg was and still is my favorite director. So obviously I first was aware of Drew in E.T. like most others. I know she’s had highs and lows, but she’s been one of those celebrities who has always been around who I feel like I know.

Kills me when she's talking about her daughters... "Let me just get you set up for life before I throw you in" Wow. Would have been nice if her parents had done that for her. I think she's a really good person.

David Letterman is one of the only good hearted people left on tv. He is honest and takes accountability for his shortcomings. He’s not a judgmental dope trying to use someone elses mistake as their own stepping stone.

Drew flashing Dave was a fun, spur of the moment thing. No need to go so deep and philosophical about it imo. Dave enjoyed every second of it, why would she think he would be upset about it. Didn't hurt ratings I'm sure. A memorable moment.

I’d not thought about how it could have gone differently. Its true, what if Dave was upset over it. Had her escourted out. Some hosts could be scared or upset over it. I have always liked Dave and remember his first daytime show! He was in his best years when Drew had her moment on his show.

It's kind of like Miley Cyrus syndrome momentarily. A former child star has to rebel sexually to show to the public that she is no longer a child. Or it could just be a Hollywood thing ;)
