Having been a fan of the MCU...as I get older and see another Alien film flop at the box office and another planet of the apes film flop in the same year... I'm really starting to see what Martin Scorsese means. I know the death of physical media killed a lot of the back-end. But the "artist" director is dead. We just have JJ Abrams.

Very sad to see this news today. Lynch has been a favourite director of mine since I was a kid. I absolutely love his work with a passion. I remember staying up late, watching the Oscars on a small black and white portable television in my bedroom, cheering on every mention of his magnificent The Elephant Man. The Elephant Man and Blue Velvet remain favourites. During the early 90s, like so many, I was obsessed with Twin Peaks and its wacky characters. Perhaps the greatest, most artistically achieved piece of television ever made, has to be episode 8 of the Twin Peaks return in 2017. If you haven’t seen it, prepare to have your mind blown at the artistry and genius on display. It is one of the most Lynchian, breathtaking pieces of filmmaking ever. Lynch was also a dedicated meditator, with very profound insights about the nature of life, reality and consciousness. When talking about such profound things, he would uniquely wiggle his fingers in the air, like he was weaving the universe itself. I am certain, he had no fear at all about death, and was fully-realised in his understanding. Onto the wind and beyond, Mr. Lynch…

I sense realy good movies are his medicine. Without them I would have quit as a teenager. They opened a world of miracles in an otherwise mostly dark world to me. I also sense he has heavy depressions at times, very deep ones. BUT when he feels great he feels GREAT in an intensity most in no way can imagine... And that`s what highly sensitve people should focus on...

My favorite movie of his is Eraserhead. He called it his most spiritual movie he will ever make and he always refused to explain it even when the plot was so difficult to understand. Eraserhead is like the soul of American life, maybe he was inspired by his own soul. Probably that’s why it’s been days since he left this world and I still can’t believe that he died. He is only one of two celebrity deaths I had a hard time processing. I am very confused. I think I saw his movies and felt like he wasn’t mortal because he spoke through his soul with his movies. Experiences like that can’t be forgotten. Movies change lives forever. That’s what people miss out on when they’re so invested in the glitz and glamor of Hollywood. I’m sad artists don’t live forever. If they did, they would’ve changed everyone’s lives like how David did mine and millions of others. He was the soul of Hollywood. It’s sad how he left before someone deserving would follow his footsteps… his genius may never happen to Hollywood again.
